I dunno if there’s a thread for this, but I thought we should document yet another way we’re heading down the path to oblivion. I still think the world will probably just outlive me, though. 
 

I hope these scientists at least have a modicum of Oppenheimer guilt. Who’s that guy who got fired from his own company today? Did a board of robots fire him?

 

On the other hand, it’ll be a relief when AI takes over the running of VAR.

I reported an Ebay item which is listed as follows:

Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit 2016 2017 2018 Puddleduck Flopsy Bunny 50p Coin

 

Except the image is none of those coins. It is the 2017 Benjamin Bunny 50p, the commonest of all the Beatrix Potter series.

Half the 'news' reports in our local paper are by-lined Jane Doe AI-assisted Reporter. Its hard to tell where the actual reportage stops and the AI-assistance comes in.

Will we see more of this in the future, political parties generating statements and messages by severely ill or dead politicians with artificial intelligence?
