In France, no surname particle belongs to the surname since the Revolution. Philippe de Gaulle is in fact Gaulle, Philippe de. It’s a real nightmare for bibliography trust me. I don’t think it’s the Same with De Niro in which De is part of the full surname. That can explain it. 1

Thanks, useful to get a definitive answer. i'd like to think whoever put Philippe under 'G' was aware of this, but maybe that's giving them too much credit! De Niro, is of course an Italian name, so you wouldn't necessarily expect it to be treated the same as de Gaulle (is lower case correct in this instance?) TQR 14,333 Posted March 14 Should just depend on whether or not their name is stylised with a capital imo (which depends on where the surname originates from). de Gaulle = G De Niro = D van Agt = A Van Dyke = V

I see according to Wiki that all of Daphne's kids seem to be alive. Is that the case?

I questioned the logic behind that. The only response that I got was "Do you want this book or not?"

The only response that I got was "Do you want this book or not?" That's what I meant, not only do they not know, they are inconsistent. I should know, my first job out of school was on the book counter at WH Smith. I spent more time reading the books than attempting to sell them.
