BrunoBrimley 86 Posted March 3, 2005 I find it hard to believe that you don't have this rolly-polly good natured charmer of a man on your list. He's been in hundreds and hundreds of movies and all over the small screen as well. Aside from his turning 82 this past Sunday (February 28, 1923 is listed as his birthdate), he also has a big weight issue which must be straining and stressing his heart and other organs. Any chance we can get him on a list soon? Look I don't necessarily want to see him croak, bite the dust, kick the bucket, etc. but isn't it just about time to give him his honorary due of being listed? Looks fortunately busy on imdb so suspect he'll be hanging around a little longer, mind you he's always good value. Looks like he proved quite hard to kill when he fought in Europe during the Second World War (3 purple hearts) so I would put him on the long list for 2007. As many of you here already know Charles Durning lost his dancing partner the other day when veteran actress Maureen Stapleton gave her life to pulmonary disease. Charles is extemely upset and is looking for new dancing partners who can fill the shoes of his former partner on the floors. Candidates should be able to waltz, tango and watussi as well as polka and malaguena, bergamask, cabriole and even allemande. Damnit Mr. Brimley, when I read "sad news" I thought this fine actor had toted off which, as much of a loss to the acting world as it would be (don't get me started on some of the crap younger actors out there today...), would give a few points in the Hartlepool, of which I picked a fairly random group of people who have no clear indications of dying. Damn you for getting my hopes up. Damn you. I feel that he is a candidate worthy of discussion though. If I ask what people think of his health/status, will I get a serious response or get told to "Shut the F*** Up" again because of all my "legitimate questions" and "on topic posts?" As for Charley Boy, I did some more research and found that he has a recurring role as Denis Leary's father on "Rescue Me" and isn't looking all that bad. BrunoBrimley 86 Posted September 12, 2009 Cuurrently or even concurrently Cousin Chuck is in production of two films:: A Fondling Hea...oh mmm that's a FONDER Heart and a flimsy film titled Room and Board inwhich he plays a character named 'Grandpa'. Clear case of typecasting. Also in Post-prod. of an interview thing and finished off several ventures within the past year and the one before this one as well. It seems that surviving WW2 attacks----2 seperate ones where others were cut down like chestnut trees in a chinook wind-----has given the portly pleaser an extensioner on life. It shuld though be noted that he has not done stage work of the broadway sort since 2000 when he was in a Gore Vidal vehicle the revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man. He may need screen work as an easier method since you can rest more between takes. When asked to say what he attributed his longevity to, Durning responded that it was a combination of dancing, sex and the liquid he consumes morning, noon and night. Whatever keeps him going is a mystery----unless what he says is true. At 86 and 6 months and several days it's good to see him still alive and working. His health seems good in fact better than good and he has been seen out on the town with the likes of Ernest Borgnine, Sean Connery, Eli Wallach, Bob Hoskins and Bill Thompson, the lot of them laughing it up and sharing bottles of Drambuie and cartons of Winston's while taking pinches of the rear section of passing waitresses before adjourning to their digs at a local hotel where they often play poker until noon, before retiring for an afternoon of rest to prepare for another night of festivities.
