I was watching Steel Magnolias last month then checked her filmography and realised she hadn’t been too active lately.

 

Was going to suggest her on here but then thought “nah you’ll look silly when she lives another 10 years”.

Robert Downey Jr. was joined by several of his Marvel pals in paying tribute to Jimmy Rich, RDJ's personal assistant who died unexpectedly in a tragic accident.  On Wednesday evening, Rich was in a fatal car accident, though additional details are currently unknown.

Upon seeing his dead assistant, Downey, Jr said, “well isn’t that Rich.”

'Notting Hill' star Tony Armatrading has died at the age of 59.

The actor – the younger brother of singer Joan Armatrading – passed away on Monday (10.05.21) after a battle with cancer and his friend Tim Bentinck broke the news on social media.  Tim wrote on Twitter: "Very sad news. My dearest friend Tony Armatrading died of cancer an hour ago.

Tony began his career in theatre and originally worked behind the scenes as a member of the stage crew at the Birmingham Rep. He later made the move to acting with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He played roles in two notable Hollywood films during the 1990s – as a customs officer in the 1997 flick 'The Saint' and then in Notting Hill as a security guard who allows Will Thacker (Hugh Grant) onto a film set in order to win back Hollywood actress Anna Scott (Julia Roberts).

"Midnight Run" is a great comedy.

My first memory of Charles Grodin is "The Couch Trip".

Dan Aykroyd has escaped from a mental hospital and becomes a great radio talk show.

Charles Grodin was a very popular psychiatrist.

The great Walter Matthau also participated in the film.

It's a minor comedy... it isn't a classic film... but it's a film that demands to be seen twice.

Entertaining for people of all ages.

re: Grodin. No-one has mentioned The Heartbreak Kid, as I remember it one of the great 'new Hollywood' films of the early 70s. I really must watch it again - in my mind's memory, it's linked with The Graduate.

Kevin Clark, who played Freddy 'Spazzy McGee' Jones in the Jack Black film 'School of Rock', has died.  He was 32. Clark was killed in a traffic accident while riding his bike.
