Walter E. Grauman, prolific TV and film director, responsible for Barnaby Jones, Murder She Wrote, etc etc but also directed Deathlist favourite Olivia De Havilland in Lady In A Cage, dies at 93. http://variety.com/2015/tv/people-news/director-walter-grauman-dies-at-93-1201457322/

That's actually a VERY juicy tidbit. My 'Coincidental Deaths' database has a couple actor-director pairings, the most recent of which I believe was Richard Widmark/Jules Dassin ("Night in the City") back about 5 years ago. Synchronicities like that may be working right here right now. I'll be looking for ODH's death notice before Easter, and hit #3 for DL.

Who knows, he might drag Angela Lansbury into the mix. Although I still say it's too soon for her.

Edit: Grauman also directed 633 Squadron. The planes involved? de Havilland Mosquitos. Coincidence?

What tickled me slightly - two movies she was in were "Stone Cold Dead" and "The Sweet Hereafter".

According to Martin Scorsese, he was a key figure in the attempts to colourize old black-and-white movies.

Pale Rider was pretty much a remake of High Plains Drifter, and Dysart and Geoffrey Lewis were the main baddies in the 2 films were they not?

R.I.P. Richard Dysart.

Top actor.

What a fabulous presence he brought to the screen in portraying the part of Leland McKenzie.

Sad day.
