Oy vey my peeps, no Handy, neither you nor anyone (I don't think) is on ignore.  I will take my lumps for presuming that I had discovered something new, and therefore posted without hesitation as stated in the x-post.  Apologies to all including the family of the deceased, his agent, Kevin Bacon, and all here who have ever signed on from May 1, 2018 forward, who will have to see this thread, including but not limited to: Kevin Bacon, who I have on good authority has visited the DL site every Jan 1 to see who made the list.

I’m debating if Nichelle Nichols qualifies for team Gris Gris.  Decided no for 2018, but we need some lower hanging fruit so maybe amend our ‘strict requirements’.

Hmm, I never knew that actor William Hurt battled prostate cancer that had spread to his bones for years. And that the National Enquirer knew about it.

Actor Charlie Schlatter is talking publicly about something he's kept private for a decade.  He's living with chronic myeloid leukemia. It's a cancer of the blood.  Schlatter went to his doctor thinking he had a spider bite. Before he knew it, he was sent to a specialist, and his white blood count was off the charts.  "They're telling me, 'you're a mess' and I'm 97 percent infected with leukemic cells," Schlatter said. "I gotta get to the hospital pronto."  Schlatter said his leukemia is not curable, but highly treatable and highly manageable.

He's 52 fwiw.  And seems to have managed his illness for 'a decade'.  Just posted FYI.

I think she was the last living actor to play an adult role in the Basil Rathbone era of Sherlock Holmes,  possibly the best Holmes in my opinion. Think I'll watch the story ,Dressed To Kill, in her honour later.

So I just read that my former suggestion Kate Murtagh ("Woman on the front cover of Supertramp's Made in America") lives in a special care home for old and frail Hollywood actors/actresses, the "Motion Picture & Television House and Hospital":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_%26_Television_Country_House_and_Hospital

Thankfully, the wikipedia article also has a list of current notable residents, including:

Spade Cooley favourite Glynis Johns

Helen "I am woman" Reddy

"Airwolf" and occasional deadpooling pick Jan-Michael Vincent

The indestructible Mary Carlisle

....and other lesser names

Among the former inhabitants were Connie Sawyer, Johnnie "Tarzan" Weissmueller, DeForest "Bones" Kelley, the just deceased Anne Coates, and apparently Zsa Zsa Gabor... (?)

She was also another of the Cheers alumni, just outlasting Harry the Hat.

Occasionally-discussed Ruthie Tompson lives there too, though not on the Wiki list.

The Helen Reddy info should put her on peoples radar, can see why Carlisle/Johns live in a special care home due age and Vincent because of a host of publicly reported health problems.

Helen Reddy played one of the Women's Marches last year, she seemed OK for an Australian:

This, however, claims Our Glynis (TM) is in the Belmont Village retirement home. Although they may have just forgotten to update that she's moved as they still list Martin Elkort as a current resident, and he died in 2016.
