Billy Graham to your list. Thing about Pete Jennings is that I've not heard much news about him of late - I'm judging that with age on his side he stands a fair chance of beating the cancer. I've got PJ on my deathlist top 50 list at number 21. But also not in my the Derby top 20 list, sitting as 3rd resurve with Ross Davidson and Shuarto ahead of him. Billy Graham is not in my top ten Rotten.com list but placed at number 6 in my DDP provisional 2006 listing. And as a deathlist entry I have him at number 10. It all comes down to factors within the scoring system - derby rules of 6/5/4 for under 50 / over 80 require provision of specialist lists to maximise opportunities. Rotten Ali 600 Posted July 25, 2005 With my 250 name listing spreadsheet, I've had a cross check against this years deathlist of the surviving names and only found 11 to be of the most credible candidate entries. I'm not saying that you have dropped the ball this year, but I think that quite a few of the suggestions are a bit wide of the mark. Surely the major factor in an early or predicted death is that of ones good health or the lack of it. I would suggest that in future years the deathlist team not rely on a chance call that an old celeb looks a bit frail but follow a wider catchment and the illness prognosis of these celebs with greater focus. I have the following raw data findings:- The figure listed first relates only to a relative quotient, made up of:- 1. An age factor (nobody lives forever and it follows the older someone is the greater chance that they may die) 2. An illness factor (inoperable liver cancer very high factor 75 points or so, all the way down to Parkinson's very low factor 5 points or so. Drug and alcohol use also taken into account and given weighting (hence appearance of Maradona with a total factor of 80.36 even though he looks to be on the mend) 3. Number of deathlist listings during the last few years - 1 point for each - even Clive Dunn's overall score lifted by a cool 9 points would have rated a 50.00 total putting him above 12 of this years picks. 4. Correlation of Jokers played in the DDP - 1 point for each. 5. Famousness test - number of picks on the DDP - 0.25 points for each 6. My current years entry is now listed at position 171 out of about 44,000 entries. On the news of King Fahd's death: I know its "so bad form" quoting yourself, but then again if you can't blow your own trumpet every now and then who else will. OK, this way I'm giving weight to the illness/age/drug use/etc looks like I may need to revise the notion of rehabilitation in the case of Maradona. Question is has the fat lad given up completely? And does the quantity of abuse lead to a scenario that he has opened him self up to his body suddenly failing without warning? I'm thinking that it may do, and what with the gastric by-pass operation his guts may negatively affect him beyond what was envisioned by him or his doctors. I would have him on for one more year due to the fact that he could yet be a 6 point paying addition in such as the DDP entry if placed in the top 20. As with the obviously long term sick Jerry Lewis and Liz Taylor I'm thinking that if they are not on the list and they do then die, there will be lots of people saying that the guys drawing up the final deathlist are missing a trick or two. Although it was reported on the 05/08/05 that she had undergone an operation in relation to her stroke. Her husband reported she was much improved following this op.
