15 years later...

The Pope and the new Cardinals visit Benedict XVI

Well he doesn't look bad to be honest: his health seems to have improved after the known problems of this summer.

Looking okayish. Unlikely to be hit 18th at the very least but certainly someone who should remain on the 2021 DL

Won't be 18th hit anyway if he dies this year, since he is not on the list

Agree with you my friend. A risky year to exlude him on the list. Still annoyed that Sean Connery was not on this list

One of the lesser-known tenets of catholicism is that there actually is no absolute celibacy for the clergy, but that the exception only applies to sex between two living popes (Romans I 3-12). However, since there is usually only one pope alive, it is still a de facto celibacy.

I wonder what the biggest gap between "won't be long" and actually dead is, on this forum...

Anyway, Benedict's boy toy Georg Gänswein says that this voice has become weak but he can be understood, if you listen really closely:

Maybe.. that first post has this "he's getting on a bit" part, though the following posts all mention how good in shape he is.

In fact, he looks six years better.

Six years of age less and six years of retirement more.

A wonderfully subtle 666. But bollox. That was Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Guys it looks like we might have our first hit this year. According to this random person on twitter Former Pope Benedict is likely being taken to a remote location to be killed.

Unnatural death points for those that had him in the DDP this year, it looks like.

We now know that whatever Pope Benedict dies of , it won't be the corona virus, because he's just been vaccinated along with the current Pope...https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/14/europe/pope-francis-covid-19-vaccine-intl/index.html

not if he gets infected before he gets a 2nd dose

Is he the longest living former pope? I'm cynical are reckon he abdicated to be available for a bigger gig.

Yes, he set that record last year.

He’s also the last living of the 143 Cardinals created by Pope Paul VI.

and also because of that, the last participant of the conclaves that elected John Paul I and John Paul II
