I agree with you that he's still not safe, but they were clearly talking about a BRAIN scan (MRI). It'd be funny, if they scanned his liver in a brain MRI machine, wouldn't it?

 

Carter said in a statement that his most recent MRI brain scan did not reveal any signs of the original cancer spots or any new ones and that he’ll continue his treatment.

But even if the bulk is gone, the MRI is likely unable to detect small (microscopic) quantities of cancer cells and micrometastases in his brain. Doctors tend to avoid the word "cured" unless the patient has been cancer free for at least a year, so it's too early to talk about a miracle…

He is beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt UK-obitable and as said before his family has a history of cancer, so there is a reasonable chance that his cancer will come back and kill him within a year. I wouldn't be surprised if he were among the top 10 in the Drop Forty.

I'm not exactly confident of my 2 Jan prediction and he's off my various lists of prime dead pool candidates though currently on the DDP subs bench and likely to get an RDP run out unless I can be bothered to research enough other candidates on the notable persons database employed by that organisation. Tbh I think a few other late low hangers might bump him into the reserves at the last minute.
