Picture from Italian-born Brazilian supercentenarian Delio Venturotti's (25 Oct 1909-1 June 2022) 112th birthday, a week ago.

He's one of the seven (less or more) living men born before 1910 with:

Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia (11 Feb 1909-18 Jan 2022) Spain

Ivo Gomes Barbosa (15 May 1909-in limbo since 2020) Brazil

Juan Vicente Perez Mora (27 May 1909-) Venezuela

Marcel Meys (12 July 1909-15 Dec 2021) France

Geraldo de Jesus (2 Aug 1909-9 February 2022) Brazil

Lawrence Brooks (12 Sept 1909-4 Jan 2022) United States

and Venturotti, all 112.

Geraldo de Jesus is bedridden but lucid, Saturnino is in a wheelchair. The others seem to still be able to stand, Brooks could stand on his 112th without any aid.

I am curious to see if we will finaly have a 114th male birthday again. There are now many 112+ men and they look strong.

Linnea Tanttu, one of the oldest people in Finland has died at the age of 106.

She had memories of the Independence of Finland in 1917 and the Civil War of 1918, probably if not the last, one of the last living people to have memories of these events. Also remembered the spanish flu pandemic.

Checked the latest news on Lawrence Brooks...

He's declined really fastly during the last two months (especially during the last weeks), went from being able to stand properly to a wheelchair in september/october and now seems to be bedbound "spending his last days" home with his family. Picture from the 4th of November.

I realized that when Kane Tanaka was born on January 2, 1903, a person born in 1700 was still alive, Margaret Ann Neve.

Obviously not in 1700, but in the 1700's. To be precise in 1792.

Margaret Ann Neve who lived on Guernsey met a French general who was born in 1739 so a span of nearly 300 years from the general to Kane Tanaka. (via Neve)

Indian man Lallat Mian dead at "115". "Indian" and "age-faking" may become synonyms.
