More or less in a month we'll also know if the Chinese are still alive. Doubt the three of them are.

The Shanghai Centenarian reports have been released.

first of all, Xu Senzhen is dead, died this year at some point age 114 or 115. Not unexpected considering she looked very frail in November 2021. Wu Zhicheng is the oldest woman mentioned, born in 1910. There's one other woman born in 1910 and one born in 1911, the others aren't supercentenarians.

From the men: Tao Ruisheng is dead. Also not unexpected considering he was bedbound years ago. Chen Zhongbo, the second-oldest man last year, is also dead, which is slightly suprising as he seemed a bit healthier than the others. As is #4 Shen Guangyuan, Chongming's leading educator.

The oldest man now is Yang Lonsheng, who looked like this in 2020:

longsheng.png.0dba0559beaac61d0899a3ee73c89ce9.png

112 in December.

#2 is Shanghai local politician Shi Ping who I have actually mentioned here before. Shi seems to be "permanently" hospitalised and will be 110 next month.

Ethel Caterham is 113:043 and Rose Eaton is 113:041. They are the oldest living persons in UK since 2018 (Olive Boar) and quite nice. I wonder if at least one of them could achieve reaching 114.

UK has slightly underperformed during the last years in extreme longevity.

Photos of the UK's oldest living people Ethel Caterham and Rose Eaton from their 113th birthdays in late August.

Rose (bottom set of pictures) is STILL living at home independently (with occasional visits from carers). That's crazy!

They're the only living people to have been subjects of SIX monarchs – Edward VII, George V, Edward VII, George VI, Elizabeth II and now Charles III.

Shi parece estar "permanentemente" hospitalizado e fará 110 anos no próximo mês.

E Zhang Deshan?

Zhang Deshan is from Taiwan, not mainland China.

Surprised Yang is the last one standing as he seemed the frailest.

There is a confirmation that Juliette Bildé turned 113.

She was born 30 September 1909 and she is the vice-doyenne of France.

She is in good health and a violinist played for her birthday,

Picture from her 113th:

In good health for her age, I'd say.

That list also confirms miracle COVID survivor Ye Ming is still alive, 108 in December.

Rose Eaton has died at the age of 113 according to 110club. Ethel Caterham is now possibly the last living subject of Edward VII.

(There are a few who claim to have been born during Edward VII's reign in the British Empire, only one of them confirmed living this year seems to be Indro Bai, Indian who claims to be 114.)

Sad. Died on 7th October according to this.

Ethel Caterham is now the only Brit living who was born in the decade of the 1900s.

Ada Thompson (b. 1910) of West Yorkshire is the now the UK's second oldest person.

I hope she lives another 4 months to see 119. That will mean 2 Europeans reached that age. Important we get one up on the Americans and Asians. :P

Ahah agree. My nationalism wants her to reach 119, which I think she could, but I doubt she’ll reach 120 now

Who's the oldest living WWII veteran now?

Beside that the oldest man in the US is now Ezra Hill, who seems to be in fair health. Two men older than him, Lawrence Brooks and Melvin Campbel died in the last week. All three were Afroamerican. Strangely beside Hill all men in the top 10 are now white.

Modesto Lopez Bautista claims to be older, but likely a fraud.

Ezra Hill, oldest man in the US, dead at 111.

Tomiko Itooka (b. 23 May 1908)

Inah Canabarro Lucas (b. 8 June 1908)

Hazel Plummer (b. 19 June 1908)

Kimiko Ono (b. 20 June 1908)

While 1908 seems to be generally weak, it has 4 living people aged 114.3/114.4, born in less than a month.

Perez Mora surpassed Fred Frazier's final age of 113 years, 138 days and is therefore the 14th oldest validated man ever.
