I know you’re not english and you’re probably doing your best but the way you write those posts is so unnatural. Maybe try to put « …. has died/ dead/ is dead at … years old » at the beginning of the post so we know who you’re talking about

Thanks for the warning, I'll try to put it that way next time

Günter Parche, fanatic fan of Steffi Graf who memorably injured 90s rising star Monica Seles, died last August in a care home at 68:

Where's Geoff Brown?

Did some deep digging on this one today and confirmed what I had long suspected.

Aussie tennis sta
r Geoff Brown (wiki) died on 20 June 2001, aged 77, in Euroa, Victoria.

There's a newspaper article
here from 1951 that talks about his marriage to Veronica Lineham:

"Her father Is
former Davis Cup player Geoff Brown; her mother, as Veronica Lineham, was Victorian schoolgirl champion."

Death notice for a "Geoffrey Edmund Brown" from the Herald Sun
here, dated 22 June 2001:

"Loved ex husband of Veronica Brown (Linehan)."

Picked in several pools on here at various points... w
hoops.

Barbara Scofield (wiki) died in January aged 96.

Had her noted as one of the oldest living players (probably after Frank Okey and Vic Seixas).

Obit here but it's EU blocked so I can't see it.

She looked quite old when she was playing in the 1960s so no change there

Torben Ulrich hasn't been mentioned in this thread. Apart from being Lars Ulrich's dad, he was the oldest player in the atp top 100 ever (aged 45, in 1977).  He is 94 now.

This is a recent pic from facebook, the discription says his body is weak

Quote

…Unfortunately, these days, Torben’s body doesn’t cooperate much with his mind. Frailty keeps him indoors and if I was to to photograph him, it would have to be done inside. I was taken to his house by the wonderful Brett Murray and I had 30 sparkling minutes of his company. Brett set up some lights… and, whilst being charmed by his charismatic stories, I shot some beautiful frames…

Kan een zwart-witafbeelding zijn van een of meer mensen en baard

(could be posted in The Fringes Of Fame as well)
