I've actually never been to Poznań. But it seems like a clean, westernized city. Whether you're going for business or leisure, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It was both, actually. A business trip on Friday that turned into leisure... as expected...

I didn't get to see a whole lot of Poznan, but the marketplace was very nice. Lots of renovated old buildings. But I missed a couple of landmarks, but there simply wasn't time! And food and especially alcohol were EXTREMELY cheap. I couldn't believe it.

I'm leaving for my trip to Florida today, which means my post will drop a lot from my usual number. Hopefully this means some of you can catch up. Anyways, I'll see you guys later. :hatsoff:

Enjoy, stalk a bunker at weekends with your Second Amendment rights, in case of Trump spotting.

Just got back from a visit to the UK and a short holiday to Austria. Was nice but I think I've put on about 10lb in weight. Not good.

Myself and Mrs MPFC had a few days full-on sex tourism in the Channel Islands (same as sex tourism any other place but you need more lube!)

But, anyway - we spent a day on Sark. A truly strange place, tractors only, no cars and they give priority to horses, bikes and pedestrians. Beautiful in a strange historic English sense but the big talking point there is bizarre to say the least. The laws of the place still have feudal echoes and since 1993 there's been another dynamic completely since the Barclay brothers (82 year old identical billionaire twins who own the Daily Telegraph and The Ritz amongst the jewels of their empire) have built a castle on a nearby island and tried influencing Sark life. When a 2008 attempt at making the changes they wanted ended with candidates getting elected who opposed the Barclay's ideas the brothers responded by closing down the hotels they own and tearing up their vinyard. Consequently the island's economy has been hit and it isn't hard to find locals who'll tell you the brothers are ruining the whole place. On top of that there's a local "newspaper" - apparently - financed by the Barclays that rants about everything that's wrong on Sark and blames the landlords and lack of democracy for everything. If you imagine this as similar to Donald Trump's rants about what everyone else it doing wrong it makes a different sense to the message of the words themselves: http://www.sarknewspaper.com/

Doubtless dead pooling will get involved eventually because the whole scenario looks like a war of attrition between spirited islanders who are fighting to keep their tourist paradise profitable against two octagenarians unused to dissention in the ranks.

The Barclays are obitable but - ironically for newspaper barons - very camera shy themselves. Here's an exception to that rule:

My flight from Krakow to Munich is tomorrow morning at 6:00.

Then around 12:00 in the afternoon, from Munich to Chicago O'Hare.

Times like this, the forum misses Cat and the Flight Radar.

I mean, anyone else could look it up, but somehow it's just not the same...

I'm seeing the heart above - good call

Though the one that sees most action in my car these days is the first half of Physical Graffiti

Yes, one of my favorite albums.

I also like the cover itself. The old man carrying the branches on his back. Gives you a certain kind of vibe.

I'm back from Magaluf, complete with broken collarbone, sustained about six hours after arrival.

Not quite the relaxing break I'd anticipated.

Sorry. I have to be that person. Can't help myself. Probably something to do with being an American.
