Tempus Fugit 214 Posted December 18, 2005 A contender for next years list I would say! Made me laugh that the BBC called him portly too! It's only a minor stroke, Thatcher's had a couple of them, and she's still going.

Tempus Fugit 214 Posted December 18, 2005 yes...but Maggie is a strong lady....Sharon is a soft fruit......if he lasts a few more days....ITS JOKER TIME !!! Yes Israeli politics are notoriously soft, and former Brigadier General Sharon is renowned for his softness. Waste your DDP joker if you wish, I'll save mine for a better candidate. Tempus Fugit 214 Posted December 18, 2005 and who might that be then ? Lou Rawls comes to mind, or possibly Pinter.
grobler 35 Posted December 18, 2005 Lou Rawls ....I only heard of him maybe 5 mins ago via this message board ! Looks pretty healthy to me.....though maybe its an old picture Pinter is a decent pick....but I think he's still got a little life left in him . When you start picking up awards...it keeps the brain (and memory) active..... Doesn't look like you will reveal a surprise find...... we need to touch base Jan

Doesn't look like you will reveal a surprise find...... we need to touch base Jan 1 Did you also notice the article detailing his year-long struggle with brain and lung cancer, along with his doctor's grim prognosis? He being Lou Rawls that is. Getting back on track, looks like Sharon suffered only a mild stroke. Maybe keep an eye on him, but it's not a rare occurance for people his age (and especially in his position) to have those. Much like Gerald Ford, looks like a false alarm, albeit a more interesting one.

BrunoBrimley 86 Posted January 4, 2006 The BBC are reporting that Sharon has been taken to hospital after feeling ill, nothing more yet. Well avcording to YNET news at http://www.ynetnews.com he was evacuated to the hospital on the eve of his angioplasty. His doctor rushed to the Sycamore Ranch where Sharon was engaged in an evening of wild post Chanukah festivities and decided to send the old man to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem immediately in order to prepare for tomorrow's procedure As per the statement released, Mr.Sharon is alert, concious and "fine" but it is thought he mayt have had another minor stroke. grobler 35 Posted January 4, 2006 looks like a mild heart attack to me....coming so soon after the stroke is not a good sign . Would his death have any repercussions on the Middle East situation ? This is where we need the input of our American friends , most of whom seem to spent their whole day discussing politics.....especially foreign affairs that shouldn't concern them...but does
Canadian Paul 97 Posted January 4, 2006 According to CNN, powers were transferred to Sharon's deputy after a "significant stroke."

Windsor 2,233 Posted January 4, 2006 I just can't believe this old tub didn't make the top 50, especially after last month's warning signs. Indeed, I expected him to be on the list (No. 40-50) also. First deathlist miss Yasser and now it seems, we are on the verge of missing his enemy.

Tempus Fugit 214 Posted January 4, 2006 He's definitely not going to survive, this kind of massive stroke has a near 100% death rate. I'll give him a few hours tops.
