How Do I Display An Image In My Post?

Recommended Posts

Sorry to be a twunt. How do I put a jpeg in a post, so it displays instead of being a link?

A small bag of freshly-picked kudos from my greenhouse will be winging its way to the first helpful DLer...

Cheers,

Star

Mr Crossed

You only post images if they are hosted elsewhere - then you can use the "IMG" button to add them to your post by using the URL of your image.

There are plenty of free places to host images - Google is your friend.

Trust this deals with your query.

Many thanks, GR.

Ah, these internetty things... sometimes one can struggle to get something to work, sometimes things go so much more smoothly.

After reading your reply, it took me about 7 mouse-clicks to register with a free image host. Mission Accomplished. I tried to take full advantage of this new-found resource on the King of Tonga thread.

Knowledge gained, skills learned. What more could I ask for? Cheers GR.

(Medium-sized jiffy-bag of kudos on its way under plain brown wrap.)

1. Click the IMG button

2. Copy and paste the URL where the picture is located in the box that pops up. eg. http://www.cyborgname.com/webimages/chi2-JOSCO.png (Thanks Josco for the example)

3. Click ok.

Regards,

ff :D

I want to do this too and now I'm going to be really dumb - where is the "IMG" button?

And how do you cover up the URL so there is just a word that you click on?

I suppose this is akin to Homer looking for the "any" key. I don't care

The IMG button is next to the http:// click it and paste your URL into the box, click OK.

To cover the URL click on the http:// button a box will open, paste in your URL, click OK, then "my webpage" will appear in the box, type in whatever you want to appear in place of the URL, click OK.
