Life Begins at 5 o'clock 7 Posted February 13, 2006 My name was inspired by my appreciation for Coors light and the Alan Jackson-Jimmy Buffett song "It's Five o'clock Somewhere." I also thought a name mentioning when life begins on a website focused on when life ends for so many people properly reflects my contrarian nature.
TLC 9 Posted February 20, 2006 I got my user name from my real initials, which were never commented on until the band of the same name (who could at least have had the decency to be good) suddenly appeared in the early '90's. I bet you can imagine the hilarity of being told 'not to chase waterfalls' several thousand times by people who think they're the first.... It wasn't even funny first time. I tend to use my initials on any website that allows it, but would have tried to think of something more relevant to this site with hindsight. Maybe TC would make more sense now, after the L in TLC rolled a 7 several years ago, but then that's also Top Cat... No reason for the Brian Cant Avatar, I suppose a Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopez pic would make more sense, but there you go.

TLC 9 Posted February 20, 2006 Indeed he is, and according to his agent's web page he can boast of recent appearances in casualty (the TV prog, not for real) and Snow White & the Seven Dwarves, which makes me wonder what part he played... Perhaps he has hidden talent. Also, he has recently doodled on-line for charity, national doodle day no less, please feel free to enjoy! http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/nationaldoodled....cfm?doodle=303 All of which makes my Avatar choice even more irrelevant I suppose; maybe I'll try & think of a new one. ps does anyone know what that Warn (0%) thing is that appears under my info? Is it because of the complete lack of posts I've made compared to length of membership?
Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted February 20, 2006 ps does anyone know what that Warn (0%) thing is that appears under my info? Is it because of the complete lack of posts I've made compared to length of membership? Apparently others on the site can give you a warning, I think for pretty much any reason, or none, and each time you get one the meter increases by 10%. Someone "warned" me the other week, but a day or two later I was back down to 0% - not sure why it was re-set. I expect it to be abused some time soon and someone will get up to a full 100% in warnings. Interesting to see what will happen then. And by the way, TLC, your namesakes were a top pop outfit, so don't hang your head in shame for even a moment. Who can ever forget the musical triumph and societal observation that was "No Scrubs", to say nothing of "Unpretty"? Plus Lisa Lopes, besides wearing boot black on her cheek and burning down her boyfriend's house after he cheated on her, had the good grace to die whilst on a charity mission in the Caribbean, thereby securing a far greater legacy for herself and her band mates than they could ever have hoped for. TLC 9 Posted February 20, 2006 Cheers Cowboy Ronnie, I wondered what I'd managed to do that could warrant a warning. When I clicked on the link there's no message from anybody so perhaps it's just random, especially considering my 3 posts (or 4 including this one) have been pretty tame. Even more tame after looking at some of the more controversial posts you can get on this forum due to the potentially sensitive nature of the subject matter! Not that I've found anything offensive on here, but you know how some people spend their life looking for new things to get morally outraged about. Regarding your views on TLC the group, perhaps I'm biased against them due to the name thing. I will admit she seems to have done some things in her time that merit her place in pop history, the burning down of her cheating boyfriends' house is a classic in it's own right! But I'm not gonna rush to get her back catalogue.

in eternum+ 22 Posted March 1, 2006 In a state of extreme procrastination, I decided to google my username once again, to see how it was fairing in the popularity charts. The top hits continue to be dominated by my counterparts: In Eternum, The Band. According to their website, they have a gig in High Wycombe coming up on March 4th - and I shan't be in the country to attend! What a shame.... However! During my foray into the murky google waters, I was... um... fortunate enough to be able to listen to one of their tracks - all 6:58 of it. Although I am the first to admit that I am not particularly savvy in the world of heavy metal/prog rock, I'm sure that this is top-notch stuff (please disregard the fact that the song's top ranking was 4,712, and it's current ranking is 23,590). I believe this track - The nigth; Tom of souls - was performed in collaboration with Charlotte Church and the Cookie Monster. It would also seem that Hanz and Franz made a vocal cameo at the end. In other news, I am very pleased to say that yours truly appears as the 7th and 8th google hits.
Bennett_Cerf 2 Posted May 21, 2006 As I have already indicated in a few locales, most recently as a response to Tempus Fugit in the Saddam Hussein topic, I selected my name, Bennett Cerf, as a tribute to the memory of my late and most beloved Uncle. He simply adored watching What's My Line? while sipping brandy from his favorite snifter and eating a half dozen or so assorted chocolates with fillings.
