Bugger bird flu, what about hurricane Katrina. New Orleans has been evacuated as it's predicted to be in the eye of the storm.

How many will it kill ?

No idea but I hope this goes away quickly, I have plane tickets for next week to New Orleans.

How ironic! New Orleans is one of my favorite vacation spots that I visited many times when I lived in Houston in the early 1990’s. Hopefully it will be spared and there will be enough of it left to enjoy when you visit there. :o

At 266km/hr (165mph), Katrina looks like one vicious category 5 hurricane!

No great loss to the gene pool :o

One man was found dead aboard his boat after apparently trying to ride out the storm at sea.

Another was found in a capsized boat.

Agreed. In that part of the world, they'll more likely be walking on moonshine.

Katrina could turn New Orleans into a giant cesspool

I guess they could always arrange a twinning with Liverpool....

Wise woman, you have learned the art of South Park.

As for Katrina, I'm no longer going to New Orleans this weekend so San Francisco, here I come.

Wouldn't count it out. In 1993 I was in LA for a few hours changing flights. A couple of days later one of the worst earthquakes to hit the place in decades occured.

"At least fifty" killed, according to latest reports.

I think there may have been some mistake, Katrina got the wrong 50!
