That Tsunami comparison certainly takes the piss, although we can draw a parallel with the apparent lack of immediate federal response to the disaster.

Considering all the extra tax dollars that have gone into "Emergency preparedness and response" over the past few years, the response seems a tad muted at best.

I'm particularly impressed by the way the Americans have got their guns out and started shooting at each other. Exactly what the SE Asians stopped doing when they had their tsunami.

Charlton always knew those guns would come in useful some day.

I had a feeling that someone famous could get fatally involved.

By the way, isn't this an embarrassment to the US.? You'd think it was a third world country looking at the pictures.

Well, yes. It's not that they found out that New Orleans is below sea level and in hurricane territory last week.

You'd think it was a third world country looking at the pictures.

In my opinion the US became a third world country in the 1990's, unfortunately one with nukes.

Guest IYG

My cultural psychology teacher made a good point today when he said that each and evry one of us should we be put in a certain situation would act in the exact same way. We would loot, kill and survive.

I must admit, I have to plead ignorance to the fact that New Orleans is overrun with Brazilians who have over stayed their welcome.

It appears the mayor has given some emergency powers to the security forces.

One things for sure, Led Zeppelin's 'When the Levee Breaks' will not be rushing towards the turntables.

Or even Memphis Minnie's

Oh that theiving Mr. Page.

But can we take the Chevy to the Levee?

Me too. Work does get in the way sometimes though, and I sometimes have to explain to my colleagues why I'm laughing at my PC - yesterday when other DL members were plotting to raid the Royals site being a case in point. Also my better half doesn't really approve of the site - she thinks it's a bit morbid. I've tried to explain it to her, but there you go...

I work for myself. I think it's about time I took disciplinary action.

First verbal warning maybe?

It's already gone far, far too far for that.
