I like writing light verse, typically as inscriptions in books intended as presents. I tried similar things in English, without success. I didn't expect it to come naturally in prose. I feel a bit like William Whewell, who wrote in his first edition of An Elementary Treatise of Mechanics (1819): "Hence no force however great can stretch a cord however fine into an horizontal line which is accurately straight."
