I remember seeing a Dyke Lane as a child always use to amuse me to no end. That and signs for Cockermouth and Fanny Barks when we went away..

Raw Dykes Road in Leicester. Should've used some lube.

Bundaberg, that is the funniest fucking place name in the world. Cheers for reminding me of it.

Oh I dunno; Pratt's Bottom springs to my mind.

Yeah I meant funniest "normal" place name. Ones that aren't generally found on those lists.

Now I think about it there's probably a hundred other places in Australia that are equally hilariously named. All those "Cock Bottom" type places in England are so 2006!

Okay. we have a moderator problem here. There really is a place called effyouseekayeyeenngee.

Nothing to do with us. It's just the naughty word filter!

Lmao I guess they dismantled that fucking filter at some point. How amusing; it's like this conversation happened elsewhere and got pasted on DL.

It was just a temporary blip, as I recall. Fucking annoying at the time.

It was, mainly because most of my posts ended up looking like this '********* *** spam handler ******* ******* **** in your ***** trousers'.

I'm driving through Kilgore, Texas as I type this. Not too bizarre but very DL appropriate.

Just discovered that in Sabine Parish, LA, we have something called the Cockfield Aquifer.

Not sure I want my thirst quenched from liquid emanating from the Cockfield.

Fingringhoe in Essex. That sign is always amusing.

Not a specific place per se, but the Swedish word for "end" is "slut". So, "end station" (where a bus/train makes its final stop) is called "slutstation" here. Hilarious for tourists, but completely normal for us Swedes.

There's Nob End at the end of Little Lever in Bolton.

There's a lot of bottoms around here, ramsbottom, brooks bottom, broadbottom.

Also there's a street called Gutter End in Bury. I presumed this was historical but nope, it was renamed from Church Lane around the year 2000...I think someone at the council won a bet there.

Thumbing through my A-Z of Birmingham and the wider West Midland conurbation today whilst planning a route for my lad 's away football match, I came across a district of the Black Country called Bell End

And it's only a ten minute drive from Lickey End

There's a place in Wiltshire called Hanging Langford. Bonnie probably shouldn't visit.

There's a Dykes Way near me. I always smirk at Cockfosters on the London Tube as well.
