Sir Creep 7,011 Posted February 13, 2020 Oklahoma state officials announced Thursday morning that the state has found a reliable supply of drugs to resume executions by lethal injection. 47 people are on death row now in Oklahoma, awaiting execution. About 30 of them have exhausted their appeals and could have an execution date set. Executions in Oklahoma had been halted since January 2015 after several mishaps, including a botched lethal injection in 2014 and drug mix-ups in 2015 that led to one inmate being executed with the wrong drug. Another inmate was hours away from being led to the death chamber before prison officials realized the same, wrong drug had been delivered for his execution. j0neseur0 118 Posted March 20, 2020 Been thinking about Brit Lindsay Sandiford this week. I remember an article/interview recently where she was quite calm and resigned to her fate now and the execution was due to be carried "whenever they got around to it" and with just 24 hours notice. I thought maybe with the world in a flap, offing your death sentence pool all at once is the kind of thing that would alleviate some pressure on the prison and wardens. IDK about this, but I know with some of them, the "executioners" are chomping at the bits to do so - they interviewed the guy who was going to do the hangings in the aforementioned Nirbhaya rape case in India about a month or so ago, and he basically was like 'can't wait.' Sir Creep 7,011 Posted November 30, 2020 The U.S. Justice Department has rushed to change the rules around federal death penalties as they expedite a slew of scheduled executions in the final days of the Trump administration, including expanding possible execution methods to include electrocution and death by firing squad. The approved amendment to the “Manner of Federal Executions” rule gives federal prosecutors a wider variety of options for execution in order to avoid delays if the state in which the inmate was sentenced doesn’t provide other alternatives. It ultimately may be moot since President-elect Joe Biden campaigned to abolish the federal death penalty and four of the five inmates scheduled for execution already have their manner selected — lethal injection. drol 10,028 Posted February 2, 2021 China executes Wang Shujin, 53. Wang kidnapped, raped and killed a woman in Shijiazhuang in 1994. Nie Shubin, a 21 year old Hebei man, was executed in 1995 for this crime. After his death Nie was found to be innocent. Traveling prisons staff on the execution team had the virus.
