Any idea of when the 2011 competition will be published?

Can everyone please check their team in case I've missed any unique picks (the orange dots next to the names; potatoes actually)?

/edit

Charlie Louvin and Dick Cheney are not unique picks.

And the year at the top of the current HPDP should read 2011.

Oh yes. I'll sort that out later.

So what does this mean for The Unknown Man? Can he not score anymore points since Gerry Rafferty has died and he has him listed last?

No. It means that he scores the lowest amount of points available. If his number one choice dies next, he will get 9 points (instead of the 10 he would have received had No. 1 died before Rafferty).

That is my understanding from memory, so it is probably wrong.

Indeed it is wrong. But only in the number of points.

It's 45 and 50 respectively. No idea why I do it that way, but there's probably a reason.

Ah well. I was close.

To be fair, I never have enough hits on the HDP to familiarise myself with the scoring. :eshock:

Shitting Jesus! I thought she was on my HDP team. She must have been among the ten I removed when I realised it was teams of 10, not 20.

Bellender has respectfully struck out Young's name.

I shall work out the points sometime soon. Maryport appears to be in the lead.

It was always thus...if only all small towns could combine Maryport's mix of rustic charm, understated ambition and unfussy scenic beauty!

Given that that scoundrel Bellender has more or less completely given up attending to his duties, (preferring I am told to attend to a certain Lady Florence Craye, recently arrived spinster of this parish; back in my day domestics knew their place and stayed in it), I'm doing a spot of tidying up on the HDP front. Not that anyone'll notice much difference until I get all the scores calculated.

The following people seem to have died in no particular order:

Blake Edwards

Gerry Rafferty

Neil Young (footballer)

Pete Postlethwaite

Charlie Louvin

Tom Lubbock

Mick Karn

Eunice Sandborn

Nicholas Courtney.

Have I missed anyone?

I picked the late and mystifyingly unlamented Josefa Iloilo. Even though he didn't get any UK obit action, I feel that I should get points anyway. He was a former President after all and I can hardly be held responsible for the media's complete ignorance of the goings on in the South Seas. Someone needs to take a stand, NAP.

NAP my man

Eunice Sandborn - DEAD

Tom Lubbock - DEAD

Claude Choules - DEAD

Steve Prescott

Nat Lofthouse - DEAD

Penny Marshall

Margaret Fish - DEAD

Geoffrey Hughes

Harlan Ellison

Aretha Franklin

I'm counting five dead but the sluggish scoreboard is only crediting three. Fish and Choules have had point-worthy obit coverage in the UK, her in The Sun and him everywhere. The HPDP site must make comforting reading for relatives of a few of the recently deceased, but a tidy up of the old scoreboard would be welcome at some point!

Bellender's currently busy doing my tax returns for the past two years.

When he's finished I'll see he gets on to it immediately.

*ahem*

Yes Bellender? What do you want?

Mr Mirum has asked me to convey his apologies for his tardiness in updating the scores of the Hartlepool Deadlypool.

He says he will get around to it soon.

In the continued absence of my employer I have taken it upon myself to update the site somewhat.

The deaths have all been marked. Probably.

I shall attempt to "tot up" the scores at the weekend.
