Do I win a prize for nominating him??

GU, you win the respect and gratitude of your fellow DL'ers, and at this time of year, surely that's the greatest gift of all.

A quick over/under on the number of people who will post messages along the lines of "Lou Rawls has died" on this thread, after this message. Bookies offer 3.

You do indeed! A hearty pat on the back (virtual) from us here at Deathlist and a family pack of Andrex.

Lou Rawls is deathlists first success of 2006.

He is also deathlists 138th success since 1987.

The 2006 list is already in 17th place shared with 1987, out of 20 lists.

Well done to the deathlist Committee!

Yep, well done - keep the ideas coming. Unfortunately we wont be able to use them for another 11 and half months, but keep them coming anyway!

Good work Gross Urnings - your prize is that the DeathList committee loved the suggestion and put him at no. 1 to secure a resounding success - I'm sure you are honoured :rip:

Mr. Rawls has spent a total of 6 days of the DL - an impressively short stay - very hard to beat I would say. Anybody want to work out who has had the longest stay?

No? I thought not.

I would imagine it was Pope John Paul II.

Interesting fact...

Amazingly Rawls' time on DL wasn't the shortest stay...Brian Johnston (cricket commentator) spent just 5 days on DeathList in 1994.

Very easy to beat then.

ps Going back to the longest stay - the mighty Dunn might have something to say about it.

According to my calculations - the Pope and the Queen Mother died on their 14th year on list - Dunn is enjoying his 10th this year
