John Profumo

So farewell John and off you pop,

You political wheeler dealer,

You were very famous once,

For boffing Chistine Keeler.

But now at ninety-one years old,

T'is time to say "Bon Soir"

And fly up to the Angels,

Because the other way is to far.

So I will stop, and bit adieu,

From him, and her, and me, to you.

Ode to Profumo (continued)

Your exploits have been recounted at length

To great mirth and hilarity

But you gave up the life of hookers and drugs

To devote yourself to charity

If Deathlist cannot find any details about you

In any form of media

Much as it pains me to say it, they could do worse

Than look in Wikipedia

...

Your wife forgave you over time,

But confined you to the spare room. Oh,

what a tragedy it was,

The strange case of old Profumo.

It's been just over a week now and poor old Profumo still has no write up on the front page.

Has our esteemed leader gone AWOL?

Maybe he's still celebrating his birthday :o

Profumo and Weinberger now have profiles on the front page, but at a terrible cost. I've been informed that TF has been having major problems logging in, perhaps he may never be able to post with out proxy again!

Cthulhu! What have you done! Could we at least have a yellow exclamation triangle next to Caspar Weinberger's thread in TF's memory?

Weinberger is hogging the front page so I thought I'd bring Profumo's little write up to wider attention here:

Profumo keels over

10th March 2006

John Profumo, the subject of a major British political scandal in the 1963, has died at the age of 91 to give DeathList 2006 its third success. Profumo’s started an affair with good time girl Christine Keeler, only for it to be discovered that she was also close to a high-ranking Russian naval attaché. Profumo was forced to resign and the conservative government subsequently lost the next election, however the event did spawn a successful movie in 1989. Profumo was the number 23 selection on this year’s list in his first ever appearance.

Cheers GR.

Politician of some sort and according to his Wikipedia biography on

Thatchers 80th birthday celebration he attended but not on foot

it was in a wheel chair since as they describe "His extreme old age"

confined him too one.

Looks promising.

And I think I can get use - to seeing Margaret Thatcher's name hanging on spot 36...

Lucky Bastard! She was a looker when she was young

A proper little sh*t. His dad must be turning in his grave.

Note it's a guest claiming Thatcher as a 'looker' in her younger days. Not sure any of the regulars could live with the shame and abuse if they were known to harbour such opinions.

Some of the press coverage treated us to recent pictures of Christine Keeler who lives 'quietly' in North London. She looks as rough as a stray dog's rear end. She's not exactly a near-future contender but she stress and depression were written all over her face.

Siiting here in the USa, I am not privy to those newspapers. Would you know of a weblink to those pictures? Does she slook anything like in book promotion at http://www.dougiethompson.com/christine-keeler.htm ?

She would die like that, wouldn't she?

Surely she wasn't that bad looking. I saw a movie about her and she looked just like Meryl Streep.

Well that's what you get for shagging a Tory.

We're all doomed then, they've been fucking the lot of us over for decades.

Not quite sure I'd call her a "looker"

She wasn't hideous looking when she was younger, but she didn't seem to age very well

The aging started when she sold her soul to Satan.
