I can not believe it, oh god this is terrible. A great actress to die in such a way. If it had not happened she could still be alive. RIP Anna Karen, now you are with Barbara Windsor, your best friend you loved so much. It was heartbreaking when she came with a wheelchair at Windsor funeral last year. RIP both!

I dare say it was all discussed when he died in 2008, but I was interested to see that Reg Varney missed six episodes of On the Buses. It would be interesting to know how that came about and how it was explained in the show, given that Stan was such a central character.

According to these IMDB reviews, Varney got fed up and decided to leave; it was explained by Stan having found a better paying job in the Midlands. Surprisingly enough it was the death knell for the show.

I've jokingly said that Come Outside was like a Soviet kids programme. She was always wandering around some factory. Possibly the most exposure '90s British children got to industry.
