Paul is now 77.

Actually looks like he's dead in 2009 according to Wiki and IMDB, lol.

Ha, really should keep my lists up to date.

Bit odd, that isn't it? Just checked the BFI, they've got Paul dead as well.

Comes from the Mirror obit

Quote

Michael was the younger brother of late actor Paul Angelis, who died in 2009 at the age of 77.

Paul was best known for his role as PC Bruce Bannerman in Z-Cars.

However, if he was 77, then he died in 2019 not 2009, which makes far more sense.

Aveleyman doesn't have Paul dead at all. Maybe the obit in the Mirror was rushed, they took his age today and the death from the Wiki etc and conflated them into a mess of the blues.

Apart from Aveleyman, Paul's dead aged 65.

Think we need an Ulitzer or a much missed Cat on the case....;)

Death record from Ancestry gives us the date – 8th April 2009 aged 66.

And the GRO confirms he died in Lambeth.

On the topic on Angelis, do you know if you could find when Peter Batten died (the only hold out from the voice cast of Yellow Submarine at this point)? Or is he truly someone we’ll never know the fate of?

I would need at least his year of birth to uncover anything.

According to this 1999 Guardian article he vanished without a trace after the production of YS!

Have a walk through some 1967-1969 military or court records and look for a Peter Batten arrested for desertion, might give a DOB.

Peter Batten played George Harrison until he was arrested as a British army deserter during production and then virtually vanished. Angelis also played Harrison.

Just found this touching tributevon YT

There are still many reputable sources saying he was 77 (BBC and PA for two).

So I haven’t found any records for him at this stage, but Roger McGough does note in this book that Peter Batten was interviewed by The Sunday Telegraph in 1999 (he even quotes him).

Presumably after The Guardian put out that article in the same year saying he had disappeared.

Haven’t found anything more yet but I’ll get to the bottom of it. ;)

So, anybody know if the rumours of Mike Walling's death are true? Probably best known as Eric in Brush Strokes.

Pretty much every major character from the peerless Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads (1973-74) is still with us 40 years on, that's not bad going.

James Bolam (Jun 16th 1935)

Rodney Bewes (Nov 16th 1937)

Brigit Forsyth (Jul 28th 1940)

Sheila Fearn (Oct 3rd 1940)

Well, there comes 80 Brigit Forsyth.

Probably the three remaining are fringing the radar now...

Sydney Lotterby supposedly dead at 93.

Big time BBC producer – Last of the Summer Wine, Porridge, Some Mother Do Ave Em, The Liver Birds, Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister, Up Pompeii!, Open All Hours, As Time Goes By... and so on and so forth.

Won four BAFTAs and received an OBE so expect an obit within a day if it's true.

Sydney Lotterby is definitely dead - Lizo Mzimba is all over this on Twitter.
