I can not believe it, oh god this is terrible. A great actress to die in such a way. If it had not happened she could still be alive. RIP Anna Karen, now you are with Barbara Windsor, your best friend you loved so much. It was heartbreaking when she came with a wheelchair at Windsor funeral last year. RIP both!

Rather a strange surname. Turns out she was born Ann McCall but wiki doesn't say why or how she changed it to Karen, or if it was a stage name. Also she was apparently a stripper after moving to London from South Africa:facepalm:.

Jesé what a bloody awful way to go. She was bedridden wasn’t she after breaking her back. That’s just a terrible terrible way for her to pass.

She broke her back but wasn't bedridden neighbours reported talking to her daily when she was out and about.

You are the dirtiest man here that you have no education at all. What do you need what I say and what I write. I did something that did not deserve this response. You are the most incomprehensible man here, do not dare to offend me not only me, but no one here. I have not offended you and I will not do it. Everyone has the right to express their opinion. You are lain, not me. Be more respectful sir because I do not know you.

Well, I went to school in Basildon so, no, I had no education.

TQR will back me up on that one. :D

If deaths come in three are we soon to expect another ITV 70’s sitcom star to leave us?

Deaths don’t ‘come in threes’ that’s something a novice deadpooler says.  Deaths come when they will come and there is little need to produce coincidences.

I dare say it was all discussed when he died in 2008, but I was interested to see that Reg Varney missed six episodes of On the Buses. It would be interesting to know how that came about and how it was explained in the show, given that Stan was such a central character.

According to these IMDB reviews, Varney got fed up and decided to leave; it was explained by Stan having found a better paying job in the Midlands. Surprisingly enough it was the death knell for the show.

Sad news but I did suspect she might have been Ill after she left Still Open all Hours and barely worked afterwards.

Oh my goodness, this is so sad. I loved her on Come outside as Auntie Mabel with her dog 'Pippin'. RIP Lynda Baron

Sad to see this. Not because of Open All Hours, which I think is absolute shit, but because she was Auntie Mabel in '90s kids classic Come Outside.

Haha, a rapid flurry of people of a similar age all posting.

I've jokingly said that Come Outside was like a Soviet kids programme. She was always wandering around some factory. Possibly the most exposure '90s British children got to industry.
