Scraggy Taters 290 Posted March 19, 2016 Dutch DJ Howard Kaii dies in a traffic accident in Thailand. He crashed with a motorbike without wearing a helmet. He died at the scene. Never heard of the geezer, and I'm Dutch by the way, but apparently he was spinning with the likes of Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong and Judge Jules of Ministry of Sound. So that's counts. http://www.msn.com/nl-nl/entertainment/nieuws/nederlandse-dj-omgekomen-in-thailand/ar-BBqEdTG?ocid=spartandhp Ah yes, 'spinning' as in sharing class A & hallucinogenic drugs. My mate caught Pete Tong snorting coke in his club in 1995. Gave him the £50 he used and a knowing wink as if to say 'say no more about it'.

Guest El Loco Posted March 25, 2016 Thomas Fekete update Hello all, Got a big update today after my PET scan on Wed. Fortunately the cancer hasn't spread to anywhere new. Unfortunately, it still remains on my spine and lungs and has continued to grow in my abdomen, compromising my small intestine. As those of you who have seen me since December know.. My last surgery completely annihilated me. I'm still on a cane. I still rely heavily on narcotics months and months later (I've come off multiple times, there's a lingering pain that simply won't let up). Because of this, I cannot allow myself to go in for another surgery as I'm about 100 pounds, and I just simply do not have that in me anymore. That being said, I am a fighter, and I plan on continuing to fight for all of my friends, loved ones, family, and in hopes of inspiring others who are going through a similar situation, something which happens to me daily, and is always incredibly profound. Fortunately, I am working with a doctor who is not only brilliant, but is like a brother to me at this point. He's beyond the cutting edge of cancer care, and I truly believe he can keep me around. Some of you may have seen the Time cover about Immunotherapy today. Jessica and I will be heading to Mexico City for the next couple months to go for another round of immunotherapy as well as try out a few new and promising procedures. We will be relocating for the time being, and I just would like to give tremendous thanks to all of my friends and family who have helped me out while I've been in Florida, wether you brought me food, guitars to play, or simply sat and talked, I want to say thank you, and that I cannot wait until I am back, healthy, and paying this forward to all of you. I plan on keeping a website etc updating my progress, as well as a place for me to continue sharing music. Love to you all

Now I want to chase down more from this obscure band. According to penultimate sentence the entire band has now died. So they've got to get it together--something in the air--is that Thunderclap Newman reunion! SC

YoungWillz 21,067 Posted March 31, 2016 As the band members are all dead now, they'll be 'something in the ground'. Pete Townsend ? He played the bass As I understand it, he wasn't a formal member of the band. Call him a session musician for this. Anyway, Townshend will be dead by the year's end, if my list has anything to do with it.
Guest El Loco Posted March 31, 2016 More from Thomas Fekete Day two in Mexico. Turns out the tumor in my abdomen that wasn't allowing me to eat anything/making me want to stab my stomach with a knife was the size of a GRAPEFRUIT. I guess that explains why I've been hiding under blankets the past three months. FIRST treatment, they put me under, and my doctors literally watched it disappear before their eyes in about 6 hours via the cat scan machine after they injected the artery, which was feeding the tumor with immunotherapy. I cannot tell you how freaked out I am to have good news for once. I still have more treatments to go for the abdomen, spine and lung... But one asshole.. The main asshole that was on its (very quick) way to killing me is now the one who has been killed. And WE murdered it all, together, me, my wife, you, your family, anyone who has helped us get this far. And sorry, "little guy," I know you were just trying to survive yourself, but go fuck off and die in hell along and please take everyone else's cancer along with you? In the meantime, here's a little (happy) middle finger for all that suffering you caused my family, friends, and me. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. I haven't told anyone this, but in November I was given three months to live. Of course, that was a bad physician, but inevitably, the thought lingers. But, take life into YOUR own hands, no matter what. Listen to your doctors, but go see many, and take what they say with a grain of salt. Soon you'll find yourself surrounded by brilliant human beings, not people trying to save you while simultaneously being on auto-pilot. There are REAL doctors out there who don't see you as a commission from a Chemo company, but as a human being. Jess and I aren't leaving Mexico City until I am 100% cancer free. But, I'd say we had a pretty good first day A massive hug to all of you for your love and support. Please, if you know anyone with cancer, get in touch. I'd love to forward all of these studies etc to anyone in need.

Townshend had a lucky escape from the fuzz a few years ago regarding downloading kiddie-porn... claiming the material was for 'research'. The Reaper will catch up with him sooner rather than later methinx.

Guest El Loco Posted April 6, 2016 Thomas Fekete update: "Dear family and friends who are just as much family, I need you all right now, more than ever, to send Thomas every prayer, good vibe and positive healing energy that you have. While the procedure went very well, his body was in such a weak state that he is having a hard time handling it all. He's received the most amazing care here but he needs to be flown over to Miami where there are more resources available. His health urgently needs to be brought back up so that he can survive and move on to continue further treatments. He is comfortable, napping and in no pain right now while I am making the arrangements to get us to Miami today." I need you all. Please do your work, we have gotten him through so much already and I believe we can rally and pull through this. Send him everything you've got. I know I can speak for us all when I say that we just really need this beautiful man here with us on earth. Love, Jessica

Although he seems to be in good health at the moment and will be performing on the same bill as Ronnie Spector this coming weekend. For the uninitiated: The Winter dance party of 1959 was a gruelling 24-day tour around the Midwest by a bunch of artists. The crash of Holly, Valence and the Big Bopper happened after the 11th day of the tour, know today as the day the music died. All those who played there are dead, including the music apparently, apart from Dion. The dead; - Buddy Holly - Richie Valence - the Big Bopper - The Music Musicians who played and are no longer there; - Waylon Jennings (crickets) - Carl Bunch (Crickets) - Frankie Sardo EDIT: Jennings and Bunch were not in the Crickets, they were recruited to be Holly 's backing. Furthermore backing musician Tommy Allsup is still alive, the one who cheated death by losing a coin toss with Valence.

Although he was in the navy, I understand he did do the Winter Dance Tour. In fact I heard an interview he did back in February 2016 recalling it, specifically the day Holly asked Dion about the plane journey.
