Basilar skull fractures are something almost always associated with violent impacts at high speed and falls along with high speed motorsport or road accidents, are usually the most common causes of such an injury. Assuming he fell head first (especially at a lateral angle) onto concrete pavement I can definitely see how it happened.

He appears to have landed on wooden decking.

Ten minutes after his death the sick fucks at TMZ had published pictures of his dead body - in particular his tattoos to prove it was him.

TMZ didn't publish the full body photos. This seems to have been an X/Twitter based rumour.

It has to be said that ' Burnside' covered that response quite deliciously.

Really not a star but for fans of the Peel Sessions, just seen that Simon Mullings aka Spike Mullings, bassist of late 80s indiesters The Snapdragons, died around 31 Aug/1Sept: https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/law-centre-announces-death-of-housing-law-legend-simon-mullings/5120730.article and https://nearlylegal.co.uk/2024/09/for-simon-mullings/

Guardian obit for Mullings. He was 57, and died in a kayaking accident, which is... different I guess.

Oh aye, and...he was planning to marry her, obviously - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cyv7pm60m15o

The only remaining question is...celebrity jungle or Big Brother house for Ms Cassidy?

Inger Lorre of The Nymphs dead from recently diagnosed cancer at 61. Mucho hype and notoriety in the early 90s but the band probably gained the most publicity after Inger pissed on a record company exec's desk. After The Nymphs imploded she co-wrote (actually added a verse but anyway) 'Yard Of Blonde Girls' with Audrey Clark of one of my favourite bands of the 90s the 360s, covered by Jeff Buckley.

Sad news. Only found out via Kathy Valentine's Instagram.

Let’s have a little Jack Jones, a superior lounger to Andy Williams imo, and infinitely preferable to his bellowing namesake Tom.

I bet Hal had fun writing those lyrics. The essence of Mad Men.
