Dead Pop Stars

Recommended Posts

Andrew Love

The saxophonist from the Memphis Horns has died aged 70.

"According to Memphis-based Stax Records, Love and [trumpeter Wayne] Jackson played on 52 No. 1 records and 83 gold and platinum records. They backed up Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Neil Diamond and many more singers of American pop music"

Another great Stax musician, bassist Duck Dunn, has died in Tokyo, also aged 70. Just Blackburn midfielder David to see off now, Clive.

Did we know she was even ill?

Nope. Not even the tabloids knew about this. She'd be the number one pick on the DDP otherwise.

Really sad news. And, once again, an icon of my childhood gone. RIP.

RIP Donna, where's DTTG at such an auspicious time? I don't know about you, but I Feel Love and Love to Love You Baby got to be amongst the greatest pop songs of the last century. The latter has pride of place on my Smooove B playlist and the former, well...

Yeah, and this . Ah shit, this has made me feel so sad. I'd trade 100 Whitneys for one Donna.
