Klaasje van der Wal, bassist with Shocking Blue, has died aged 69:

Shocking Blue's drummer died aged 49 and their singer died aged 59.  As van der Wal was 69, I'm bookmarking surviving guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen (currently aged 74) for the 2023 DDP.

Billy Johnson has died. Billy Johnson was a drummer for Reggie And The Full Effect, an emo pop/rock band, among others. Band members and friends said that Billy "was the guy to go to if you're in a hurry". "Billy did learn your set in six hours and you've got your gig.

He played with Reggie for 10 years. No cause of death was revealed. I Can't find an age either

"What do you do?"

"I'm in construction."

"They don't feel like you're in construction."

"Eh, I'm a union delegate..."

The best thing about that was the "budum-tish" in the background immediately after he said the punchline...

The first comment after yours was a slightly veiled reference to their song Da Doo Ron Ron Ron. Not entirely sure what the the next comments were though...

EDIT: Oh yeah. It's been two years since I last saw Goodfellas though...

The Jayhawks were a bit unlucky to never break out too much in the mainstream, the popularity of  Alt-Country came about a decade after their peak

True, shame radios will play only select alt country artists (such as Blue Rodeo in Canada), there's some very good stuff out there.

Yeah, it's everywhere now.

I need your sources! LOL.  I found half a dozen links, all tied to North Carolina.  With one interesting exception just now.

Van McLain , lyricist and founding member of Shooting Star, the first yank band to sign for Virgin, battled oesophagal cancer for a couple of decades, then gets nailed by the West Nile Virus whilst in Kansas.

Not there any more Dorothy.
