Added, alongside some other folks suggestions and some inevitable "how'd I forget Tom Lehrer" type names.

Other suggestions would be Gordon Lightfoot, Charlie Daniels and Ray Anthony.

There are so many not on the list it makes it pointless.

Jimmy Pursey for example.

Elaine Paige born in Barnet in March 1948 who went on to become Britain's First Lady of musical theatre. Poor "Memory" to leave her off the list. It is also my all time favourite song.

His wife's column about that was out today.

Greg’s first round of his new chemotherapy treatment went spectacularly badly. Ironically, we spent the majority of the time he sat having the infusion talking about how well it was going. During the last few minutes, he started to wince with pain and within seconds he was howling and convulsing with eyes rolling back like he had downed multiple bottles of whisky. There was projectile vomiting and a mass of nurses running to his help.

It doesn't sound good.

Former (briefly) drummer for The Cure, Andy Anderson, reveals terminal Stage IV cancer and DNR wishes. Drummer on Love Cats, ftr.

Topical, as also worked with Jimmy Pursey, and many many others.

That's going to be a swing and a miss for my TOTP Theme Team.

Unless he makes it to 2020, when he will be on that team for The Caterpillar.

Claimed familial relationship, which was enough to say it was a report, rather than certain.

Of course, it could be a twitter arse, but we'll see.

Ok, he was kind of gone for 25 years already, but still, it would make me very, very sad.

He is/was the genius who turned Talk Talk into the first post Rock band. No Radiohead without Mark Hollis.

Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are two of the most beautiful albums ever recorded.

Indeed - I've seen Pink Floyd credited with inspiring Radiohead (definitely true) but surely they had Talk Talk albums in their uni bedrooms as they crowded together and decided to form a band.

Still nothing. Ok, Hollis is reclusive, but he is also an iconic face of the 80s (Talk Talk were one of my favourite bands back then). Hard to understand if it is real or not now, but surely I wouldn't be shocked if it takes weeks to be confirmed.
