Evidence stacking up on Mark Hollis:

He looks much more legit than the first guy. A real bummer.

I've crushed on Hollis and loved his music since 1984. I even wrote to him. I am devastated.

He died of cancer, apparently.

Anyone want to see photos of his living room?

I'd forgotten his earlier band, with the original "talk talk".

This might be misattributed, and actually could be Mark Hollis's solo recording

Not sticking their necks out, though.  It still all seems to be hearsay, but then Mark liked to stay under the radar.

Begging the question - who recorded shit that inspired others to greatness?

Hey Mary, glad to see you still keeping the faith, unlike me. Who could forget how Climie Fisher inspired The Beatles to form?

Prompting the question, shurely ....

"Begging the question" doesn't mean what people think it means.  It means something too complicated for my meagre brain cells to grasp.

Nobody on earth can understand it :)

Well, however the question comes to be is there any case we'd care to argue of shit music inspiring greatness

Can't think of one myself but I would suggest the first Velvets album isn't that good and it's best ideas keep repeating rather than expanding and some of the finer moments in post-punk it inspired - notably Joy Division's Closer are way better
