Dave Greenwood one day, Florian Schneider the next.   Two absolute music giants to me.  What a shite week.   Goddamn I loved Kraftwerk and The Stranglers.

I had a Kraftwerk LP I ‘obtained’ from the radio station I worked at, transferred to cassette (Yh we talkin 1984).  Album destroyed in a flood, cassette missing/long gone.  I can not find a copy of this album at all - like it never existed.  Was early days when just Ralf + Florian.  Prolly never figure the mystery out.

RIP.

The band's three pre-Autobahn albums have never been issued on CD and go pretty much unacknowledged. They aren't much like the A-material - apparently the second one doesn't have any synths on.

Brian Anthony Howe, the lead vocalist for Bad Company,  has passed away Wednesday at his home in Florida

1980s Bad Company, which was my intro to the band. I have fond memories of my brother picking me up from Sunday School with “Holy Water” blaring on the car stereo and other parents in the parking lot giving us sideways looks. I liked his singing though, even if he was always going to suffer compared to Paul Rodgers. RIP.

Not a 100% sure where to put this, so here it goes:

Andre Harrell, the Founder of Uptown Records and once a President/CEO of Motown Records, has died aged 59. He's the guy who discovered Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Puffy/Diddy, whatever you choose to call him.

List of the Missed entry, even though I''m pretty sure the team in question was trying to play Betty White.

So they played Betty Wrong instead of Betty Wright. :D

Well I wasn't expecting her to be blowing her candles out  in heaven!

It was the best thread I could find at first glance that mentioned her name and really I don't think it matters very much if it is  in the wrong thread. No big deal  really , it's not like she was put in the journalist or astronaut thread...

Hell, thought I knew my music - totally taken my eye of the ball in realizing a Comet from the hit era was still with us.

I recently had a strong premonition we're going to get a massive pop star death in the next 14 days, likely from Covid but possibly undisclosed cancer. In the league of a Michael Jackson, David Bowie. Prince or Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston and in there 50s or 60s.

There’s still one more left that I know of, sax player Joey Ambrose.

The death of Al Rex means that Joey Ambrose is now the only surviving member of The Comets to have appeared on one of their UK hit singles, and the last living member to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the group.

I heard Barry Manilow talking on the Ken Bruce show yesterday, and he really didn't sound good. He has aged a lot in the last few years.
