Thought he had his own thread, but apparently doesn't.... Nile Rodgers was on some radars about seven years ago due to a prostate cancer battle, and has had a few health issues since. Been suffering from glaucoma recently which can be a sign of recurrent cancer.....

only reason Nile Rodgers + health were in the need recently (18 months ago??) was his mum was dying of cancer.  Did she ever take care of that for us?

There was a time when I were but a lad when he'd come on the light entertainment shows as THE British classical guitarist - very sad he seems to have been forgotten about even by me, ha!

If there is no John Williams thread, better get one opened.

Yes, not a name I'd heard in ages (but seeing as he retired from playing in 2011, perhaps not surprising). I was also surprised that he didn't figure in the classical composers/musicians thread.

Another one for the "curse of Half Man Half Biscuit", having been namechecked on "Tonight Matthew I'm Gonna Be With Jesus"

The name-checked the beautiful lakeland town of Ambleside in an album title

Sincerely hope that curse is basically bollocks

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Jack Sherman dead at 64.

I see his former colleagues have rushed to pay tribute to him, I don't remember them being so fussed when he wasn't inducted to the hall of fame alongside them.....

He was a member for a mere 2 years as well, so you can talk about how essential he was but they've likely had touring musicians last longer than that.

Tbh, I read the section on Wiki and I think their exclusion was fair. In order to be inducted as a member of a band or group, the criteria is 1) original member, 2) current member, or 3) performed on multiple albums. He was none of those. Just seems bitter and tedious that he hit out at it.
