Death Notice for Mike Peters (aka Mike Best), bass guitarist with The John Barry Seven , who has died aged 84: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/251429/peters

Difficult to tell how many of their hit records he played on, but if IMDB is correct, all of them.

He's certainly on their first charting hit as he's up on the podium at the back, bass guitaring away on Hit Or Miss, the theme to Juke Box Jury (I've seen pictures on Google Books which confirm it's him):

Yeah, not The Alarm Mike Peters either, before the smart aleck remarks come...

Reports everywhere that Ian Carey, US music DJ and music producer, has died aged 45.

With co-writer Kelly Barnes on vocals, probably most famous in the UK for his August 2009 #9 hit Get Shaky:

Wouldn't normally mention them in the same sentence with Motörhead and the Jimi Hendrix Experience but this is now also an extinct group, though they were just a duo.

Hollywood Reporter's (and the obituaries of many other sites) mentions that he is survived by his mother, Margaret who must be around 101-102 now.

Death Impends mentioned her in February.

Quite cruel that she's outlived both of them albeit 84 is a respectable age for any man let alone a 1950s pop star.

She's 101 and still living in the same house that Don & Phil bought for her back in 1957

Another one for the "curse of Half Man Half Biscuit", having been namechecked on "Tonight Matthew I'm Gonna Be With Jesus"

Maybe the Curse of Half Man Half Biscuit needs to be a theme team next year.

Una Stubbs has joined the list, seemingly at the top of outliving her name check: https://halfmanhalfbiscuit.uk/because-i-aint-got-a-job/those-no-longer-in-need-of-season-tickets/

Discussion of Lech Walesa recently and also seemingly Corey Taylor of Slipknot being very very sick from catching the COVID is beginning to enhance the curse, ha!

Guess you could say "the sun ain't gonna shine anymore" for him, he's gone away like a "summer breeze" and should just "let forever be".

Brian Travers had two brain tumours removed surgically, and is now about to go on his 2nd bout of double chemo to deal with his cancer.

Various sources reporting that Brian Travers has copped it?

Summat on Facebook perhaps....help a brother out.

Travers was on my longlist for my 1985 Theme Team, reaching #1 with Chrissie Hynde with I Got You Babe that year.

Didn't pick him, and in January 2021 they revealed he was undergoing a second brain operation - so it was only a matter of timing and time.

RIP Brian.

I think that's an auto generated/bot site.

Quite worrying that these websites are starting to look more and more like genuine news sources.
