Fucking hell, I knew the Deathlist should have brought him back.

But I think I dropped him from my Shadow List too, so I can't be a hypocrite.

Hopefully they bring back Chirac for 2018 so they don't have to deal with potentially another miss.

The "chancellor of my childhood" (blergh) is gone. I never liked him, though I guess that part of it was just juvenile resistance against authority. At least, he wasn't quite as bad as Reagan and Thatcher. He got German Reunification handed on a platter and mismanaged it somewhat. I guess he gets some respect for advancing European unity, but the Euro came too soon, which is being felt across Europe for a decade now.

This is the FOURTH person to die this year that was on a previous Deathlist, but not this year's.

Chuck Berry (2012, 2015)

Robert Pirsig (2016)

Manuel Noriega (1990)

Helmut Kohl (2015)

What a shame, that the committee didnt consider such a big Name like Helmut Kohl. Fortunately he was in my personnel DL.

Now I have to think about a suitable german Substitute for next year.

Rest in Peace to one of the most important german politician

They should have kept him until the end. What a big miss!

I have a feeling that 2017 could be the year of the death of big 80s/90s leaders. Bush ,Chirac and Gorbachev could all be gone by the end of the year
