There are no sources saying he isn't dead.

Al Baghdadi has been killed at least 15 times. No one has confirmed it this time, so it's simply a hoax as usual. Real death of Baghdadi will be announced by the US in 30 seconds and make the front story of BBC, CNN and every other news source in the world.

Right now, Russia is trying to confirm. Once they know for sure, they'll announce it. The US doesn't always win by the way.

For some reason I thought he was older and aged about 95.Perhaps I'm confusing him with another German politician.

That's got to be one of the worst jokes you've made on this entire forum.

I always mix up Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Kohl. That is why I also thought he was in his 90's.

They used to be on the deathist together in 2015, and while only Schmidt died, Kohl also had some "close calls" that year. (And at 87, he was almost a noneganerian, frail and wheelchair-bound – and seemed like one step from the grave, like George Bush Sr. now.)

Kohl's death leaves Schröder as the only living ex-chancellor (Budeskanzler) – vs. 12 living ex-Prime ministers in Italy. Tells a lot about differences in political stability in the two countries.

I was really surprised when I came here today and found that he was actually NOT on this year's list. Oh well. I suppose if all 50 of the selections die this year then there will be nothing to regret.

With Helmut gone, the last high profile figure left from the end of the Cold War is Mikhail...

George H.W. Bush is still with us.   The Soviet Union ended under his term.
