Banshees Scream 110 Posted January 20, 2006 The key to long life (according to Gunther from the Autopsy show) is: 1. A possitive outlook. 2. Around 30 minutes exercise 3 days a week. 3. A stable diet which keeps you healthily slim. 4. That you don't smoke. 5. You're likely to live long if someone in your family has lived in to their 90s and over. You are likely to live to 100 with those qualities he says. I fail on 1,2, half of 3 and 5. I have a positive outlook somewhat I should exercise more often without a doubt I go on and off with diets, but I could just about pass the line of eating healthy. I smoke but i'm young yet, I have all the time in the world to quit which someday I will. And people in my faimly usually die in an old age. I have 3 grandparents left and all alive "2 in which are well into there eighties"
Banshees Scream 110 Posted January 20, 2006 What you demonstrate here Josco is almost as equal to saying' Person - Ask me a qustion? Man Of Qustions - What color is the black house? BS I have read and re-read your post several times, but I am not sure what you are trying to say. Perhaps, to paraphrase Winston S Churchill, Banshees' posts are a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. Ignore the individuals within my so - called riddle. It's just creativity.. Your on the ball as you say paraphrase but Winston S Chrurchhill has no involvement what so ever. But Josco you may be right, You'd be suprised if you looked at many of my posts very closely. Perhaps it's not always what it seems or it's not always what meets the eye. My anwsers may all be very well hidden.

Unless, of course, you count the swift and repeated movement of my right leg between the gas pedal and the brake. 3. I pass, more or less. 4. I used to fail, but now I pass. 5. Not entirely sure, but given that three of my grandparents were dead before I was born, the fourth died when I was twelve, and my father died in 1993, I'd say I pretty much fail on this point. Overall, I don't give myself much longer... but I'm feeling very upbeat about it.

maryportfuncity 10,645 Posted February 19, 2006 We've established elsewhere on this forum that being a successful and/or reclusive writer - like Salinger, Pirsig, Harper Lee, Edward Upward and Studs Terkel - seems to be useful in living to a very old age. beebee 1 Posted April 20, 2006 i had two great-uncles who lived past 100. uncle jeff and uncle virgil. uncle virgil got married a second time at the age of 71. (he had to - knocked up his 40-ish girlfriend and back then that's what you did.) he was still making 'shine at 95, lived by himself, and was still playing the fiddle. he attributed his long life to moonshine, copenhagen and chasing women. uncle jeff got an infection from a splinter that hit him while he was farting around with blasting caps. dumb ole hillbilly. Tuber Mirum 125 Posted April 20, 2006 (edited) You can calculate your life expectancy here. It's a bit like the deathclock, I suppose. Who was that academic chappie called Aubrey Beardsley or similar who said people can live to be 1000? Don't hear so much of him recently. Perhaps he's dead? edit: Here he is. /edit I'm trying to find an article I read on the BBC ages ago about long life. It said among other things that either eldest sons of large families or youngest sons live longer. Can't remember which. This isn't it either, but contains the following snippet which may be of use in our calculations: .....actors who have won an Oscar will live on average three years longer than those who were nominated for the award but missed out. Six 23 Posted April 20, 2006 The secret of a long life... We all have to be completely honest about how we are feeling - tell the truth about how you feel without worrying about the feelings of others. If you hate them, say you hate them. If you feel like crying, bawl your eyes out whenever you want. Go on... give it a go....psychologists approve!! here
