Dead Losses (2004)

Recommended Posts

Coup de grâce.

Jeu, ensemble, allumette: Beatle de montre de la mort.

Anyway, you jokers, it still don't answer my question as to why the time-delayed obituary.

Mr Reaper,

I have to say that 2004 is looking likely to do down as a year of missed opportunities.

Perhaps you should change your brand of beer at HQ and in the case of the late Mr McWhirter:

"Dead-ications what you need......"

And just when you thought Maradona was the next big name football player to hear the final whistle, news comes through of the death of Bobby Simpson, goalkeeper for the Lisbon Lions Celtic team back in 1967.

Parkhead is fondly called paradise by Celtic supporters, but it is a different venue of that name that Bobby now goes to play.

McWhirter a miss??! No way!

A spritely 78 year old with no known illnesses - no chance. Frankly I think we would have had more chance of picking his bro in 1975!

Lets get real Mr Sole or I will have to bring Mr Stats into the discussion ;)

On the other hand a change of beer brand isnt such a bad idea - what do u suggest? Kronenmorgue? Carling Black Armband?? Bodytons??? ;)

I know picking old Royals for the DeathList is a bit of a lottery, so the death of the Duke of Devonshire, although a bit annoying probably isn't a missed opportunity.

Shame though, he did look like he was ripe for pegging-out.

Favorite topic time - yes, we all know there's a Devonshire, or at least a Devon, and I guess I was dimly aware that there are a few Dukes still out there, but really, who's heard of this dude? Without reading the obit can anyone name one thing about him? So, I'm with DWB - no regrets that he wasn't on the list.

Now if one of the Dukes of Hazzard was to die that would be newsworthy.....

When asked what he would do with his retirement he once said something like: "I can't retire when I've never worked a day in my life."

Now I am definitely missing the point here...

Anyone got any idea what Mr Dilliams has a problem with?

Is this a case of random rage or is there a point to it?

My guess is that he is either accusing people of resembling some unclement weather or a soft fruit..........

Can we include ugly fruit as contender?

I think Alex is taking the pith.

Mick Doyle the Irish rugby legend has arrived, together with his erm......... "larger-than-life" personality.

No more up and under - more a case of down and under now.

Mick Doyle

Spotted this on Yahoo news page

Fred Dale, creator of nasty smells, dies

Whilst I wouldn't for a second think he was famous enough for this list, despite his litany of succesful nasty smells, I couldn't help but think that we missed an interesting headline...

Fred Dale, creator of nasty smells, starts work on a new one

Guest Halo

I hate to drag one topic into another, but why when I look at Teddy's icon do I hear the name Ryan?

Jesus, man.

Atletico Madrid owner Jesus Gil is in intensive care. Difficult to picture a worse prognosis than the one quoted here:

"He's in a state of profound sedation with signs of neurological instability - he remains in an extremely serious condition," said the Clinica Centro.

And today is Friday. See you Sunday then, son.

Eh?... Oh, yes..... I am God.
