With the sad passing away of Barbara Windsor aka Peggy Mitchell these other former Eastenders characters must also be worth good consideration for DL  - Elizabeth Kelly (Nellie Ellis), Leonard Fenton (Dr Legg), June Brown (Dot Cotton), Bill Treacher (Arthur Fowler), Harry Landis (Felix the Barber), Mona Hammond (Blossom Jackson), Tony Caunter (Roy Evans and of course Pam St Clement (Pat Butcher/Evans).

Elizabeth Kelly will be 100 next year. Harry Landis guest appeared on Friday Night Dinner a couple of times a few years back and seemed fairly sprightly, a few years can make all the difference though...

Johnny Briggs and Eileen Derbyshire might be good shouts. Suspiciously absent from 60th documentaries (well maybe not that suspicious as lot of folk were missing)

Two of the longest serving living actors to have actually left the show and hardly a sign. Also originally was talk of Emily droppingin for the 60th but nothing.

Also a more long term note. Jack P Shepherd I 32 which means all being well he'll be 72 for the 100th anniversary, quite a realistic possibility of him celebrating both the 40th anniversary and the 120th should the show *touch wood* last that long.

Landis was comedy gold in Friday Night Dinner .One of the few times I have genuinely laughed until I was red in the fae and my sides hurt.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure bodged plastic surgery isn't terminal in itself.

True but looks more like cocaine than plastic surgery. She has form.Don`t think she has any plastic surgery recently. She has had money troubles for years.Plus if she had definitely ask for your money back.looks like more of her nose has collapsed internally causing it to look like she has walked into a lamp post

iirc Johnny Briggs decided to retire but was still quite active with personal appearances and replying to fan mail. @Ulitzer95 can surely confirm if the latter is still the case on the up to date fanmail forum I forget the name of...

Is this fanmail.biz.

If so the personal named address for Johnny Briggs inbox at the talent agency has been reported as RTS but there's a general address for his talent agency?.

His Startiger was updated in late July with a bought autograph, forums and actual addresses all seem to be behind a membership wall I can't be bothered to penetrate

Yeow! Looks as if Karl Malden donated his nose for a transplant.

I remember being in a taxi in 2000 and the radio operator talking to somebody: "When they said 'septum' I knew what they meant, cause that's where I had my operation..."

As @Not Deathers correctly assumed, it’s StarTiger I’m a member of. I’m staying at a mate’s tonight so will have a look tomorrow when I’m back at my PC.

Just checked. According to StarTiger, the last time he was responding to fan mail on there was in 2007!

With it being obvious that many here are interested in discussion of soap operas, I took the liberty of setting up a specialist forum for more in depth discussion. Give me something to do with me being unable to hang around here as much.

Obviously pointless if nobody posts on it, but worth a shot.

Agent for Kay Purcell, who played Cynthia Daggert in Emmerdale, reports her dead:

Looks like it was terminal liver cancer. Big role in Tracy Beaker too.

RIP to her. She was originally in my Hare's team, but I (for a reason that I can't recall) replaced her, and a few others, four days later.

Lives in Portishead as do my folks. Spotted in the local Waitrose recently so seems fine, the antics of his daughter and granddaughter notwithstanding...
