Mark Eden dead age 92. Confirmed as dying early this morning and so perhaps the first possible DDP hit?

Was on Cobbles to a Coffin, so definitely a hit.

Anytime I hear of Alan Bradley always think about this from Phoenix Nights

In one of the hotels in Blackpool there is actually a plaque dedicated to the spot the episode was filmed

Apart from 3 very senior Archers actresses who are the only soap performers to be listed above William Roache on the site that lists longest performing 'soapstars', what about Leonard Fenton (94) who was the original doctor in Eastenders? William Russell (96) was not only in Coronation Street but also the first episode of Dr Who. Mark Eden who has just died was not only in Coronation Street but also the first series of Dr Who.

Malcolm Hebden who plays Norris Cole in Coronation Street  has 'secretly ' retired from acting and won't return to the show.A retirement that was initially sparked by a heart attack in 2017. He says his body is not willing kind of thing.

iirc Johnny Briggs decided to retire but was still quite active with personal appearances and replying to fan mail. @Ulitzer95 can surely confirm if the latter is still the case on the up to date fanmail forum I forget the name of...

Could he be classed as a miss by the commitee?

In the same way that anyone half famous who dies but isn't on the list is a miss? Yes, of course.

Can't see Johnny Briggs really being a miss when the 'smart' money was following June Brown, Eileen Derbyshire and Barbara Knox. Even Leonard Fenton didn't break the Crowdsourced list or the Drop 40.

This is awful. However. RIP Mr Baldwin. The only years I ever watched the soap was when he was the main character. Barrie and Briggs. OH Mike.......Coronation Street- Musical! - YouTube

Amanda Barrie was all round brilliant Alma  in Coronation Street  She is around the same age as Johnny  but whilst you can never be sure going by some 2019 podcast interviews she  is in fine fettle and health wise and especially mentally is in top form.

Think she was on This Morning over Skype a while back may have been when Babs Windsor died or perhaps someone else from Corrie that died and she looked quite well

J.B  was in an old people’s home for the past year . I saw a FB group earlier for Portishead ( where he lived ) and locals saying he’d looked dreadful for the last 2/3 years . RIP Johnny .

Yeah he did go downhill quite quickly. Used to see him in the Royal Inn just up from his gaff on the marina a lot. Still had all his marbles even then. He moved into assisted care about 12-18 months ago it seems. Maybe should have clocked but with everything else going on..

Him and Eddie Large both gone within space of 12 months or so.. lived about 400 yards apart.

Interesting... anybody else who's notable and "of a certain age" live nearby you?

We'll be sending you round their digs to check in on them. Clipboard in hand, name tag on shirt, representing a fictional organisation so you can extract valuable info for our DDP teams. :P

Bobby Gould but he’s fit as fiddle and still turns out for Portishead 2nds Cricket team a lot.  That’s about it as Vorderman moved back towards Bristol 3-4 years ago
