Unlikely to qualify for DDP points if she makes Jan 1 but if she somehow makes Jan 1 it's very easy points for Deathrace or a Us based comp.

Mt St Josephs college is moving up their season opener up to Nov 2 for Lauren Hill,19(not the famous Fugees singer) so she can play 1 last game as she has an inoperable brain condition (DIPG)

Now in Hospice care. Since Daily Mail is covering the story some easy points if she holds on to Jan 1

I should hope coaches go here too.

Bob Boyd who had the misfortune of coaching at USC while John Wooden was at UCLA has died at 84.

Former UNC coach Dean Smith dies at 83.

"Smith established “The System” and built a dynasty during the next 36 years. He guided UNC to two national championships, 11 Final Fours, won 879 games, and graduated more than 96 percent of his players. He guided the 1976 U.S. Olympic men's basketball team to the gold medal and was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983."

Of course the Chris Bosh blood clot matters are big news for those who follow the NBA, but hadn't seen it posted so updating.

SC

"The issue of blood clots — a very serious matter — is particularly serious in NBA circles right now, with Bosh’s situation coming just days following the death of former NBA player Jerome Kersey. Doctors said Kersey’s cause of death was related to a clot traveling from one of his legs to one of his lungs.

And last month, Brooklyn forward Mirza Teletovic was ruled out for the season once clots were found on his lungs."

Guram Minashvili played on Soviet teams including 1960 Silver Medal team (move to Olympic thread if you like), has fouled out.

Article in Georgian, which I've no clue but all the letters look like women's knockers.

And from his grave, Coach Dean Smith gives all his players a $200 check. That is so cool.

Not sure what Michael Jordan will do with his though.

Hot Rod Hundley, the beloved voice of the Utah Jazz for more than three decades, has died. He was 80 years old. Hundley was born in Charleston, W.V., and went on to earn All-American honors as a player at West Virginia University. His skills on the court made him the first overall pick of the 1957 and the guard spent six with the Lakers
