If sadly a large bomb was dropped on Balmorral later tonight, who would become King? George VII that's who.

Well it cant end worse for him than it did for Charles II.

Yes, it could, if he’d get the Charles I treatment.

So why did his parents choose it?

Also, Elizabeth I was from the Welsh Tudor family, but it didn't stop the current Queen becoming Elizabeth II.

Not on mobile, looks like a bug rather than a conscious decision given that some pictures are still loading.

Don't think I've ever posted this. The Queen visited Finland in 1976, was taken to a logging site in a forest, offered a lumberjack helmet and vodka.

Not sure if she ever  visited Finland after this

Because they liked it, but that's irrelevant.  His full name is Charles Philip Arthur George.  The emphasis is on George - it was included for a reason.

There's no earthly reason why he should choose to be known as George.

The theory was that he didn't want to be associated with the regnal name Charles: the first one got his head chopped off and the second was the Merry Monarch, who fathered a small army of illegitimate children. But I agree, he'll be Charles III, which is what his parents named him.

Also, BoJo didn't use his real name.

Liz Trus's real legal name is Mrs. Mary O'Leary.

I don't think so. But let's agree to disagree.

It's a family name, like all the others.

That's the regular colour of the BBC.com page. If the news page goes black (it's usually red) that would be something

Normal colour for the main BBC page these days. When you go to the News site, it's burgundy, the Sport is yellow and the Weather is blue.

With absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back it up, I just assumed Philip chose it to take the piss!
