Does that mean we get new money? Or newly printed money will have Charles face on it?

Not until they need to make some, which may not be for a while given the decline of cash transactions.

Not straight away. In the case of the coins, not until next year.

Banknotes and stamps, in the next few weeks maybe.

Britain should be embarrassed.

We've been embarrassed for several years now.

Oh don’t worry, you guessed correctly.

BBC just popped up on my phone too with the same thing.

Can't believe I'm saying this but BoJo the Clown's statement just put the Prime Minister's to shame. Still glad he didn't get to deliver it from a lectern, mind.

Someone is awake at Wikipedia. William is already referred as "the Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge"

Also not the case. Charles was Duke of Cornwall. The title now resides with the Crown until he chooses to bestow it on someone else (probably William).

Won't William now be Prince of Wales?

Johnson might have been a lot of things, but he was certainly erudite, I'll give him that.  Compared to Truss he is around 50 points higher on the IQ scale.

Almost certainly. Why on earth would he not be? Charles has to decide but still

No, at least a male heir apparent automatically becomes The Duke of Cornwall the moment his parent assume the throne. The Prince of Wales -title comes only if the Sovereign so chooses.

Edward VII waited for several months before creating future George V The Prince of Wales, even though he deeply respected his heir.

You don't automatically become Prince of Wales, you have to be invested, by the sovereign.

Probably, but not automatically.

I was proved wrong.  I was under the impression that Charles would become George VII - I believe this was his original intention.  I suppose his advisers thought it better to continue for him to be known as Charles.

i think the rumour grew out of a single conversation many years ago, in which the possibility was discussed but not decided.

There's really only the two Berties who chose not to reign in their first name.  Queen Victoria would not have been amused!  although she herself went by her second name.

I remember that your tabloids fussed some years ago that Charles must not rob "King George" -name because "it belongs to little George"...

Harry you complete tool

"Buckingham Palace declared the passing of Britain's longest-serving monarch aged 96 at 6.30pm. But flight data shows the Duke of Sussex's jet was still in the air at the time, not touching down at the airport until nearly 15 minutes later."

Almost 25 years to the day since Dianas funeral.

I take it they wont make George and Louis walk behind the coffin.
