Picked up the Eye today, plenty of excellent analysis of the royal coverage. As for their account of The Queen's demise, no specific details aside from that she wasn't as well as was being portrayed, she was having more bad days than good days, medication was helping keep her sprightly when needed but then stopped working and her demise was more sudden than expected. Charles arrived in the nick of time, the rest were too late, she died around 3pm  but the news networks were embargoed until 6.30pm. But there was no real expectation of her dying in Balmoral, she fully expected to return to Windsor next month. Well worth a read if you can get a copy.

Anne had been there with her mother for the previous 24 yours, so presumably she was there at death too.

People often make up the details in Royal stories as they know the Palace won't bother to refute anything.

I agree with most of this. As Windsor correctly pointed out, Anne was there.

I've also heard conflicting stories about where she "wanted" to die. Definitely wasn't Sandringham or Buckingham Palace, but depending on who you ask, she either wanted to die at Windsor or Balmoral.

More likely Windsor at most she spent three months of the year at Balmoral.

But her fondest memories of summers spent with her family are from Balmoral...

I spend most of my days working in the financial district of London... doesn't mean I want to die there.

She might have felt Balmoral was a the place she desired to die at but she probably expected on the balance of probabilities she would die elsewhere due to spending the majority of the year elsewhere and the difficulties in travelling there if her health seriously declined and she was left bed bound or such like.

The conversation we're having is about where she wanted to die. Look at my post again.

She maybe wanted to piss off the nationalists on her way out by getting a special pre-funeral procession through the streets of Edinburgh, crowned with the honours of Scotland to-boot.

She might be flying high with the angels but her spirit remains in many people that aren't flying yet, no need to close a thread because she died. We aren't going to forget because she is now laid to rest, we will prefer to have a place to still talk about this loving woman. Whether you loved her or not the thread stays open until it dies its own death.

She was one of the most evil people on planet so she's more like rotting with demons in hell.

Surely if you were one of the most evil people on the planet you would be celebrated when you got to hell?

I’ve never understood the logic in Satan/The Devil punishing evil doers on God’s behalf when presumably the said Devil thinks God is a bit of a Cunt.

So if she was the most evil person on the planet and if she is now in hell, I would imagine she has earned herself an upper management position at the very least…

Apologies, I didn't mention Anne as I thought it was common knowledge that she had phoned the family and told them to head up to Balmoral ASAP. So yes, Anne and Charles were the only ones present.
