NME (even though it IS wank) put the Libertines Up The Bracket, Babyshambles Down In Albion & Shotters Nation all in the top 50 albums of the decade, the Libs being in th etop three. Every music magazine always has UTB in the top 3/5/10 top albums of the Noughties. And in fact his solo album is actually probably a lot better thgan Shambles stuff. He also is regarded by his peers as a great songwriter. ANd he was also selected at a very young age to represent the Uk in potery competitions. AND, he's not really a dick. I've met him many times, he's actually a pretty funny bloke, a bit addled, and a bit sporodic, but he's not rude, or arrogant like thos einsufferable Gallaghers. Drug addiction, drug dealing, car theft, driving under the influence, taking heroin INTO COURT WITH HIM.....no, he's not a dick at all. So what did he make? A bong? All this 'english' songwriting malarky for a start. He's the sort that can convince a lot of people that he's the real thing but he's only in it for himself. All this windswept dionysian nonsense is just to get into girls pants. Or to get drugs. Or to get lenient sentences. Plus his dad was a nob in the Army so strings have so obviously been pulled. The case arises from investigations after the death of a female documentary film maker/mate of Pete's etc. But Pete and his mates used mobile phones to take pictures of themselves in the dock...greatly offending the relatives of the deceased.
