The lone surviving Canadian hostage in the southern Philippines has appeared in a new video, announcing that his captors will decapitate him and a Norwegian man next month if they do not receive $16 million in ransom first.

Robert Hall, looking drawn and gaunt, says he will be executed at 3 p.m. on June 13 if demands of the Halibut extremist group Abu Sayyaf are not met.

Seems the Egypt Air crash might be terrorism http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/20/world/middleeast/egyptair-flight-804.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=a-lede-package-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-newsUnless of course Egypt think that's better than people thinking they have crappy planes.

They are getting closer to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/may/27/inside-the-hunt-for-isis-leader-abu-bakr-al-baghdadi

His death will probably ensure that the DDP goes to DDT this year. Though he's also the joker of my B-Team which will suddenly become a contender.

Unless this was the work of Pastor Terry Jones http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-36706761it would seem to suggest there are Halibut extremists and real Halibut extremists.

Does that mean we're going to have two groups, one calling themselves ISIS, and another calling themselves The Real ISIS?

X-Treme ISIS vs Ultimate ISIS. Come on, you'd pay to see that cage fight.

U.S. confirms Abu Omar al-Shishani's death.

Five DDP teams await points etc and accolades and slaps on the back. And buttocks.

SC

Thanks Sir C. As I understand it, TMIB requires that the other side also confirm his death before he qualifies for points. However, if TMIB wants to clarify and he qualifies on this basis, I'll add him to the next round up, but not yet.

That's a tough get, relying on the other side's media, but understood. A qualifying obit is needed as well but that's obviously on it's way.

Oh, the BBC have already got this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-35808738.

I'll assume such folk need a qualifying obit from both the West and the Terrorists. That might seem blatantly easy to get, but the possibility is that some months down the line, the Middle East media report the confirmation from the terrorists and the Western media says, hey, we already know, we don't need to report this again.

You never know....

ISIS now confirm Al Shishani's death so looks like we have confirmation for both sides to qualify for his DDP obitability: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/isis-announces-death-senior-commander-8415978

Edit: Maybe we don't. Looks like the previous confirmation from the US related to a strike in Syria, whereas ISIS are saying he was killed recently in Iraq. So looks like we are awaiting Western confirmation this time: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/07/13/politics/isis-omar-al-shishani/

Gordamit!

Yikes, that's utterly awful to hear :(

A friend of mine is in Nice with his wife, thankfully he just logged online to let us know he is safe and was walking back to his hotel when it happened
