I'm putting my money on France to win the world cup .They've just overtaken Holland as the team who've scored most goals so far.Hard for english fans to watch.. :(

France will go quite far, but eventually they will relent and wave the white flag. Brazil or as a second choice Argentina are my pick(s) to win still

So who's going to be the DL favourites now England are out?

£5 on Argentina to win in the final, in our firm's "total pool" predict ALL the results and scores. Currently 2nd out of 14 entries.

£2 running on Costa Rica in the office sweepstake blind draw.

Mrs Rotten has £5 each way on Belgium, and £10 on Argentina.

The wife said to me, "Whenever a World Cup game is on, let's eat something to do with that team for tea that night."

Mexico were on, we had burritos.

Japan were on, we had sushi.

USA were on, we had burgers.

Italy were on, we had pizza.

Tuesday is England, so we're going out.

They ought to think about using biodegradeable flags next time...

Potential for a semi-repeat of the 1982 spontaneous match fixing scandal despite the rule change to prevent it happening. The difference will be desired outcome; this time it's any draw (probs 0-0) that would suit both teams.

USA v Germany might be the most boring and exciting match of the tournament.

Klinsmann says he won't play for a draw. If Klinsmann said it it must be true.

I'm call 2-2 at 70 minutes and then they play midfield for the draw.

Epic lulz!

The irony is that Germany could face Algeria in the second round who have an old score to settle...

I was surprised none of the more hysterical tabloids didn't focus on Italy's inability to beat Costa Rica they could have easily run a headline of Flop of the Wops

Does this explain why I don't work in journalism?

I don't know about his football career being "over". But it definitely proves he's a nutter as I thought ever since the first bite. You never saw Eric Cantona going back for seconds after that ban he had.

That's in Norwegian. I'm Swedish. But close enough.
