Magere Hein 1,400 Posted October 15, 2005 Given the disproportionate preponderance of Scottish members, may I respectfully suggest the following change to the DeathList banner? I'm not so sure aboot the dog, though. regards, Hein
Tuber Mirum 125 Posted October 15, 2005 I'm not so sure aboot the dog, though. regards, Hein Deep fried. With salt and brown sauce. Or, if you are Dutch, mayonnaise I suppose.
Magere Hein 1,400 Posted October 15, 2005 I'm not so sure aboot the dog, though. Deep fried. With salt and brown sauce. Could be ok, if you take off the hat first. Or, if you are Dutch, mayonnaise I suppose. Only with chips. regards, Hein
Lady Grendel 139 Posted October 16, 2005 Given the disproportionate preponderance of Scottish members, may I respectfully suggest the following change to the DeathList banner? Perhaps some shortbread would be quite good too. Brilliant!!
Boudicca 702 Posted October 16, 2005 Great banner! It'd be a shame not to put it to use. St. Andrew's Day is approaching. Perhaps it could be designated "DeathList Talk Like a Scotsman Day". It would it be an interesting exercise in celebrating the linguistic diversity of our Scottish members, and would also give them a good laugh at the pitiful attempts from the rest of us. I have a feeling I am going to regret this..

May I suggest this site as a reference to help your 'pitiful attempts'

De Drie Gezusters is indeed a nice pub, if: -you're under 18 -you're desperate for a shag -all you want for a nice evening out is to drink a lot and make a fool of yourself. So yes, there's some nostalgia for me there...
Windsor 2,233 Posted October 16, 2005 The last time us Scots tried to take over something it ended in disaster: - Darien . Lets just leave things the way they are....
Tuber Mirum 125 Posted October 16, 2005 A good idea indeed, but get rid of the dog and replace with the Saltire. And would it be possible to replace GR's top hat with a Tam-O'-Shanter. I tried replacing his head with Robbie Burns' but it looked like crap.

So yes, there's some nostalgia for me there... Looking back, I see my source didn't say de D.G. was "nice". "Famous" was the word he used. Some other time perhaps. Drinking a lot and making a fool of myself are too fresh in my memory for it to be nostalgic just yet. Going to Groningen on Friday with Mrs N. for a bit of research. Perhaps you know of somewhere better for a quick pint and a bite to eat later in the evening?
